studios at this price are a tough sell. it's a hundred year old building so the ~$500 premium for a studio vs. a comparable 2 bedroom unit sharing rent between two people might not make sense. it's a pretty decent location besides parking which is a nightmare (especially when moving in and out) so I suggest going carless. most of the units have fairly boring views. the manager is very friendly and I had no problem with repair requests. losing some stars because I was charged $450 in cleaning fees despite keeping the studio apartment clean the entire time I was there and spending a considerable amount of time cleaning. $150 for the carpet, $100 for the blinds (which probably cost $50 to straight up replace) and $200 for everything else which I cleaned myself first. there might have been two hours of work to clean everything to perfection which means the cleaner is making $100 an hour. surely something about this can be changed

Although there was an issue with the dryer, the management was very responsive. Property managers Mark and Tonya are professional and attentive, significantly enhancing my moving and living experience. - View: My south-facing unit offers delightful sunshine and views of the community park next door when it's sunny. Room for improvement: - The fitness center is quite small. I am currently looking for a nearby commercial gym that is affordable and not too far away. I'm very impressed with leasing consultant Daphne who I worked with to view a list of 6 units at Bell View Apartments yesterday on a Tuesday early afternoon. Highlights: • immediate contact via email from Daphne after submitting interest via Redfin. • awesome, consistent and accurate communication in real-time via text message leading up to scheduled appointment as I was running a bit late • Daphne answered all questions while showing me my selection interests which covered units on 5 different floors • Guided tour was not rushed like many of these tend to be. Daphne was patient and has no issues allowing me to revisit a couple of units that I had seen earlier in the tour. • I was also happy that the units discussed as available/vacant via email, were actually available and vacant and able to be seen at the time of my tour. Have had some issues with this at different showings at other Seattle properties in my search. I could tell Daphne loves her job and meeting and working with people. I also got to see her interaction with some of the other staff on site as well another prospective tenant. Great positive energy, great ideas and willingness to help without the pushy, aggressive, pressuring antics that can be experienced in this process sometimes! The Bell View property itself was clean despite some work going on. I got to interact and laugh with some of the maintenance staff during my visit. The property is definitely "in the cut" which gives it a sense of more secure. The views of Lake Union from the 1st floor are amazing as is the view of Lake Union from the front door before you enter the property! There are lots of different floor plans to meet a lot of different types of needs in layout. The soundproofing on the windows do a great job of keeping out the I-5 traffic noise. The smart curtains were awesome! From 3rd floor and units up you get some of the downtown Seattle skyline with your Lake Union and Space Needle view! And the rooftop balcony is phenomenal. Rooftop balcony is very spacious, lots of room and tables and seating for multiple groups to be out there at same time without infringing on space and the private lounge area for events is setup nicely as well. While my move-in date is a couple of months away, working with Daphne yesterday led to discovering a unit that I really liked (actually two!) which also prompted my submitting an application on it less than 24 hours after guided tour. Very fair rental rates and strict income requirements and limits on units which are made available for people of modest incomes. Units are made available on line to pre qualified applicants on a first come first choice on a unit so no endless lists. We have a very diverse population in age, race, working folks, and those on fixed incomes. It is located in a vibrant cool neighborhood close to public transportation, many services, and shopping/restaurants. I love the Melrose!

Everything is just fine, but is overcharged. I signed my contract remotely because I didn't want to travel during the covid. My apartment turns up to have a concrete floor, which is different from the figures that they showed to me. I hadn't see my manager for a year, and they don't want to check the apartment with me in person when I left. I have cleaned everything, but they even charged me for ~$400 for the cleaning after I moved out. I don't have a good experience but the apartment is okay.
