I lived at the Commodore for nearly 2 years. Here's the cons; studio units are fairly small and don't have full sized kitchens or fridges, the max passes right in front and can be noisy, there always seems to be somebody throwing away glass bottles that makes a lot of noise, there are a lot of homeless people lingering around (not uncommon for Portland), there is no dedicated parking, street parking is metered and not by permit (my car window was broken into 3 times in 1 year), sometimes there can be quite a few young college age kids and it feels kind of like a dorm.... Pros; great manager (Tonja) great residents with friendly vibes, the rooftop is great to have a smoke and socialize, the downstairs market is convenient and the owner is awesome, Lobby is clean and inviting. Not sure if this was a different property years ago, but I have nothing but amazing things to say about this apartment complex. It’s such a cute, cozy, peaceful and vintage building with tons of character. The landlords AND the tenants have been nothing but incredibly kind toward me since I moved to the Portland area, oftentimes going out of their way to make sure I’m happy or to say hello. If I ever put in a maintenance request, they usually go above and beyond to kindly address it within a day, which is amazing! A spectacular area in Portland and a wonderful place to call home — I’d recommend Mayfair properties to anyone looking for an apartment! Not to mention, the operators of the property even decorate the property with holiday decorations — with the smallest details down to Halloween candy or Christmas lights. Check this place out!
