I used to live in the Studio on the ground floor here and I loved it. The only thing that really got me to move out was the price for such a small place(in 2017, it was $1005 for what I think was 300 sq ft). Its really close to the Safeway which is nice, and if you are really lazy there is the bodega across the street. Really going to miss being across the street from East Side Sandwiches, and its a real bummer but the Middle Eastern restaurant closed down earlier this year.
There is probably a few things you want to know before you move into here though. Number 1 is that the building water is shut down a lot because of repairs. They always try to give a days notice, but it doesnt always happen. They usually do the repairs during the day, but if you work nights I could see this being a problem. Also my toilet bowl would get brown streaks on it like I had never cleaned it, even though I would run a brush thru it every week. The other thing is, this place is pretty close to a few places that like to help out Homeless people, so late at night, its pretty common to hear homeless people screaming and yelling randomly. I would only hear it if I had my window open, which is usually when it was warmer out.
Overall it's a great place to live, the managment is awesome. The building is pretty cool and the location is great.

This is a wonderful place to live! I moved into one of the units on the north inner court. The apartment was a 100sf downsize but beacuase of the unique and efficient storage I had no problem adjusting. I loved this unit because of how the bedroom was peaceful and the rain would echo in the court. Then, I moved to another unit facing the park. This was great too but in a different way. The inner court felt more apart of the building community- you hear people more.
Clean laundry room- bike storage- friendly diverse neighbors who keep a polite distance. I appreciate the older community and young career families.
Homeless people at night will make noise. The fire, utility, and service trucks will also make noise but that comes with living in the city.
Management is completely on top of keeping this building running considering the age and complexity. Don't expect the building to never 'break' down- it's 90 years old!

I loved living in Jeanne Manor! I relocated to Portland for graduate school and signed an unseen apartment in a pinch. The experience couldn't have been better. A beautiful and maintained apartment, outstanding accessibility, charm, and a gorgeous park across the street. More affordable and charming then many of the new "en mode" high rises sprouting up in the city. All with fantastic management to make the building feel like a home and acommunity.
The only minor negative I can think of is that there can be city noise. However, don't be discouraged. No one can expect to live downtown in a metropolitan city and hear crickets at night...
Choose Jeanne Manor!

I loved my time here! Being right off the park was a huge plus as a dog owner. Management was very friendly and communicative. Patrick quickly became my dogs absolute favorite person. The apartment was pretty spacious and very well maintained. Street parking was generally available but trickier to come by midday when PSU was in session. There was definitely some noise coming from the park and/or the Safeway but the building itself was pretty quiet and I rarely heard my neighbors except for one who had particularly loud footsteps. The building felt secure and was kept very clean and tidy. You could tell they really cared about their residents and maintaining this historic building

I loved my apartment at Jeanne Manor so much. It’s a restored historical building so it has charm and is built/ maintained well. Very well sound insulated as I’ve never once has an issue with noise from neighbors in the building (people screaming on the street is a whole different story) The property manager was in communication with us tenants anytime there was maintenance or changes regarding COVID. Common areas are clean and well taken care of. If you are wanting to get the full downtown Portland experience, I highly recommend Jeanne Manor.
