Welcome to 152 Shrader! We'd love to meet you. We're looking to rent our immaculate, cozy apartment to the right one or two people. Maybe that's you? Access to the secluded garden apartment at the end of a wisteria-lined path is via a secure keypad entry. The two medium-sized bedrooms get morning sun and are off an open-plan living/dining area that features new flooring and a breakfast bar with stools. The kitchen is equipped with gas stove, oven, disposal, and microwave, and there is shared laundry in the building. The apartment is just one step from the peaceful, private garden with a lawn, picnic table, hammock, fire pit, gas grill, café lights, mature trees and flowers — a beautiful and relaxing place to chill, read, sun, garden, exercise, eat, drink, or work. Though it's shared with us and our other tenants, you will basically have the garden to yourself. We live in an exceptional location — a quintessential, tree-lined San Francisco neighborhood, smack in the geographical center of the city. The apartment, at the rear of our classic Victorian, is one block north of the Panhandle, on the eastern edge of Golden Gate Park. It's a walker/runner/biker's dream with a Walk Score of 96. The area is safe and largely residential, with a few local businesses nearby including a well-appointed corner store, cafés, restaurants, nail and hair salons, and a bike shop. Whole Foods is three blocks away. World-class restaurants are super close on Haight Street and Divisidero Streets, or slightly farther in Cole Valley, Hayes Valley and the Sunset and Richmond neighborhoods. Think NoPa, Bar Crudo, Che Fico, Citrus Club, Cha Cha Cha, Zazie, Little Star Pizza, Kamekyo, Magnolia, Burma Superstar, and many others. Public transportation here is excellent and includes the 21 Hayes bus line right around the corner on Shrader and Hayes, and the 5 Fulton two blocks up. We are 20 minutes to downtown in one direction and the Pacific Ocean in the other. Street parking in the neighborhood is relatively easy by San Francisco standards. I recommend getting a parking permit for the area. About us: I live on the top floor with my two kids, ages 16 and 13. I've lived in San Francisco for 30+ years and my kids were born a mile away at Kaiser! The middle flat is occupied by a family with a 4yo boy.
