Blanca is the absolute worst land lord I've had the displeasure of renting from. My washer/drying unit didn't work for 4 months while I was there and when it did get fixed it was a very quick fix - mind you units with washer/dryers cost extra and we were not compensated for money/time spent at the laundry mat. I had called her and sent texts, left notes in her office and it was rare that she returned a phone call. Not only that the property has not been maintained well since she has taken over. Let's not forget about our friendly neighbors...one guy lived next door for about 3 or 4 months before he got evicted. He also tried to sell me a bottle of liquor with the security cap still on it and at one point asked if he could run an extension cable to an outlet in my unit so he could use our electricity. The downstairs neighbors had a homeless women who was obviously on drugs and in an out all the time. They also got evicted after only a few months (blanca likes to evict people). Said homeless women once used the mirror of my company vehicle to do her makeup and had a bunch of clothes, shoes and all sorts of stuff on my company vehicle. Blanca has done nothing about this particular individual who has been a known problem in the area for some time now. Also, many parents leave kids unattended at pool, once a bunch of kids threw rocks in the pool and hit my girlfriend in the head and the father threatened to fight me when i confronted him. Also im pretty sure the current neighbor of my old unit is selling drugs, lots of foot traffic in and out, so if you're a drug dealer maybe this is your forever home. Blanca also refuses to give me my security deposit back because I was 2 days late on a written notice of when I was leaving - which I would understand if I got what I paid for here but I didn't. Any and all maintenance issues will take forever to get resolved. I also contacted AIM who runs the property and they were no help. There are hundreds of apartments nearby that are much nicer but still affordable and I would strongly suggest to anyone considering Catalina to look elsewhere. Blanca may seem nice at first but she will screw you over and there will be nothing you can do about it. I rent from sundial realty right now and highly recommend them, much more professional. I have the maintenance guys direct number if I have an issue. The move in process was quick and easy. To recap, Catalina Apartments has to be the most poorly run property I've seen that wasn't in Cali.
