Having lived at Avalon Sunset Towers for slightly more than a year, I can assert that my experience has been positive. The property manager, Jack, stands out for his professionalism and responsiveness to the needs of residents. While I have encountered few problems, the maintenance team has proven to be efficient and prompt in their service. I would certainly recommend this location or any Avalon property.

I've been living at Avalon Sunset Towers since 2021, and in many ways it's been my best experience renting in SF. The location is perfect for being near GGP and many businesses in the inner sunset, it's close to public transit, the building is quiet, parking is convenient, and above all the friendly and helpful staff here are what really make the difference.
The community manager Jack has gone out of his way on multiple occasions to make sure I'm taken care of, and has really made Avalon Sunset Towers feel like home. A few years back I was out of town during an unusually intense storm, and Jack called me to see if he could help me move my car to protect it from falling debris, which is something I never would have expected him to do. He's helped me find missing packages, kept deliveries safe for me while I'm away, promptly dealt with any maintenance issues I may have, and in general has made me feel like I can always rely on him for help whenever I need anything. He made me feel welcome during my tour on day one, and since then has treated me with the greatest professionalism and friendliness. Thanks Jack!
I would recommend Sunset Towers to anyone who is looking for a place to live in the Inner Sunset, especially if you like the idea of living in a community with a diverse range of people.

I've lived at the Avalon Sunset Towers for 4.5 years -- I actually moved into 8 Locksley at first, then switched to a different unit at 6 Locksley during the pandemic. From touring to move in/out and everything in between, the Avalon team has been nothing short of fantastic. Jack in the leasing office is a wonderful human - he's always on top of everything and everyone enjoys running into him. The maintenance team is thoughtful and quick. I've had a number of minor issues here and there, and they all were fixed quickly without any issue. We even had a resident caused fire in the building in 2023 which the team handled swiftly.
The units themselves are solid. Both apartments I lived in had balconies and fairly new, good condition kitchens, carpets, fixtures, fresh paint, etc. The size of the units is great for city apartment standards. I lived here solo with my dog in a 1 bedroom and it was plenty for both of us and the occasional guests stopping by. Both units I lived in had ample closet space for 1 person. My 'B' unit has the most storage -- even a walk in closet.
Many units have incredible views, which is one of the things I'll miss most about living here. When I lived in the F unit in 8 locksley (building 2) I had a beautiful view of GG Park, the Marin Headlands and GG bridge. In my B unit at 6 Locksley (building 1) I had a wrap around balcony and the most amazing view of the neighborhood, park, headlands, bridge and ocean. My favorite thing to do was sit out on the balcony with my coffee or watch a sunset... so many good ones!
The neighborhood is the perfect mix of community neighborhood with easy access to downtown via muni or SFO by car (~25 min). There are some great shops and restaurants just a short walk down the street and the park is just 3 blocks away (my dog loved this!). It's the kind of neighborhood you can run into people you know, feel pretty safe, and yet still feel like there's just enough action to keep you entertained.
Neighbors are generally respectful and friendly. I've even made a few neighbor friends during my time here. Several folks have been here for years, some even decade+, which speaks volumes.
And to top it off, it's rent controlled. Prices are reasonable and in line with market rate. Parking is manageable and cheaper than other apartment buildings in the city. Utilities do add up monthly -- some are fixed for the building, some are based on usage. My 1 bed utils has run around $150-180 a month, but spiked over $200 one winter. I don't think you can do much about this anywhere you go... CA and SF are $$. Just factor this in.
The only negatives I can think of are the insanely small bathrooms (you can just barely open the door and the tub/shower, small sink with cabinet and toilet are all scrunched together. No fan blowing in the bathroom, which I found to be an issue with condensation/humidity -- so I bought a small dehumidifier for when I showered, but that humidity can't be good for the walls. It would have also been nice to have in unit laundry, but you can't win them all. Laundry room is sufficient and better than having to go to a laundromat. Parking garage is locked/gated, but seemed easy for some outsiders to get into... they probably just walked in with residents at the lobby. I had a few packages stolen. Many packages end up in the amazon locker, but a lot get left in the lobby and there were at least a few incidents I knew of where someone came in and stole a bunch of boxes in the 'locked' lobby. They could really benefit from adding additional lockers for incoming mail... the building gets a lot of packages so that really should be an amenity this building offers.
Although I'm really excited to be starting a new life as a married woman and moving in with my husband, I am also a bit sad to be leaving this lovely little community, the view, the neighborhood. It's truly bittersweet. Thank you, Avalon team, for creating a great community, maintaining the building with care, and always being a friendly face to come home to.

My aunt has lived at Avalon Sunset Towers for several years now. Any situation that has arisen, Jack and Vladimir have see to it that everything is taken care of in a quick and efficient manner. Her neighbors are also warm and welcoming. As I live in Brooklyn, NY, it is good to know that she is happy and safe so many miles away.
I’ve had the pleasure of living at Avalon Sunset Towers in San Francisco for almost three years now, and it’s indeed been a remarkable experience! The location is perfect, with easy access to public transportation and great amenities nearby. The apartment complex itself is always well-maintained, with a clean and inviting atmosphere.
What really sets Avalon Sunset Towers apart, however, is the incredible staff, notably Jack. Jack has been an absolute gem! He’s always available to help with any issues and goes above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy and comfortable. His friendly demeanor and professional service make living here an absolute joy.
I highly recommend Avalon Sunset Towers to anyone looking for a top-notch living experience in San Francisco. It’s not just an apartment; it’s a community where you feel genuinely at home, thanks to people like Jack and the rest of the staff. Five stars all the way!
Hi Jack,
Thank you for your friendship and all the support you've given to our family. As you said, having a sweet home in the U.S. is a true blessing, and we owe so much of it to you, our greatest helper. I feel deeply grateful every day.
As we celebrate the Lunar New Year, I wish I could share this joy with you. Wishing you happiness, health, and prosperity in the year ahead!
A heartfelt thanks again to our kids’ wonderful senior alumni at Argonne ES !

My partner and I recently moved to Avalon Sunset Towers in San Francisco (roughly a year ago), and we couldn't be happier! The community, located in the peaceful Inner Sunset neighborhood, is a perfect blend of serenity and convenience. The staff (Jack, James, Jie Wen, & Vladimir) have been incredibly welcoming and helpful. We both love the distance from the 'chaos' of the city but also close to it if we need a bit of an escape; a short walk to Muni makes it easy to hop back into the urban vibe whenever we want. The community is very respectable, shared laundry is kept clean, and common areas outside are pristine. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a tranquil yet well-connected place to live! Close to UCSF, Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, and more!

I have lived in a few places in SF for several years - but the time I've had residing here at Sunset Towers has been some of the best years of my life. After living here - I hold this place as the golden standard, the office, facilities and maintenance teams are top tier. If there's a problem the maintenance team has been on it, and swiftly without any stress. The office has been invaluable for assisting with questions, concerns, as well as reassuring me that I am in good hands. Anything that comes up as a stressful situation is easily ironed by their kindness and expertise. It's hard to find places that help you and are there for you when you need it - this is the place.
I cannot express enough of my constant gratitude towards Jack and James, who are the most attentive and helpful people. They truly make me feel like I have a home - and I highly recommend anyone to consider renting here if you ever are looking for the most peaceful place to live.
