I have lived at south shore for almost two years now and i just wanted to say thank you to all but especially to Nelson our maintenance man! he’s literally the sweetest person i’ve ever met and he’s so accommodating! every time i have a maintenance issue it is fixed the next day- he goes above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of. actually he is one of the main reason i resigned my lease here! the maintenance is absolutely incredible! top tier!! thank you Nelson!

I have lived at Avesta South Shore for nine months and just love it. PROS: The girls in the beautiful, welcoming front office are super friendly and helpful. Maintenance folk go out of their way to make sure your requests are completed in a timely manner. They always have a smile and a wave for you as they fly around the grounds in their golf carts keeping the place neat and tidy. The residents constitute a nice cultural mix of families. Children are well behaved. The price is fantastic considering the place comes with a huge well-kept swimming pool, a gym, a beach and volley ball court, and two dog parks. Decent laundry facilities. Location is wonderful and seems to be a safe area. Buses to down town are close by, and we are walking distance to both Riverside Drive and East Oltorf with lots of stores and restaurants. Can even walk to HEB on Riverside. There are sometimes little parking lot parties on a Friday or Saturday night, but never any trouble, and usually end at a decent hour. Just the lads letting loose after a hard week at work! CONS: The garbage sometimes overflows. Recycling is lacking. Some residents don’t pick up their dog mess. Visitor parking is appalling. Need more stalls. A&J Towing always lurking around to tow off unsuspecting visitors. So, in general, a great place to live. Nothing fancy, but I personally enjoy the casual atmosphere more than those big fancy posh high rises, any day!

I've been here a little less than a month, but I already love this place. Its affordable, clean and with it being a gated community I feel very safe. Its been too cold for the pool but every time I pass it, it looks super clean and nice. They even offer a beach volley ball area with sand. The front office is also very accommodating, polite and professional helping me with any questions I have had since my time here. I will defiantly recommend this complex next time a friend needs a new home!

My fiancé lived at this complex for two years with a room mate prior to us getting our own place in the same complex. He never had any issues. Once we got approved and moved in October, and I can say how happy I am with this decision. We got one of the renovated apartments, and everyone we have had over thinks it is a great space. Especially the kitchen (I personally love the mirrored back splash, I think it is cool and so beautiful) It is a little inconvenient that there is not a washer or dryer hook up, but we have been enjoying going and doing laundry together. It is so close to places we want to go and things we want to do, but doesn't feel like we are in the center of everything. I really like the concierge trash service too! We have not been to the pool yet, but we walk by and it looks great. I am sure other residents love it. Only maintenance request we put in since we moved in was regarding the dish washer. We got a response the next day, I thought it just wasn't working however I didn't know I needed to flip a switch to turn it on. So, not really their fault and immediately figured out. Overall I really enjoy living here.

Very amazing experience. Super friendly staff and helpful with every question I had. My application was addressed right away and I was able to move in sooner! Plus I LOVE living closer to downtown. Definitely recommend for new renters wanting to look into places to move closer to downtown. 😊

I've been here about 2 1/2 months now, and it's by far been so much better than any other complex I've lived in. I made a few mistakes when trying to set up the lease paperwork but the gals in the front office were so helpful and were always willing to help with a smile on their face. No issues with plumbing or electricity, and there are regular emails communicating any maintenance that occurs. The pool and beach ball areas are really nice, I'm looking forward to warmer weather for those. Overall really great, and the apartments look nice (big fan of the backdrop in the kitchen and the sinks in the restrooms)

I must say, this place has come along way from last year. They’ve changed all management and it’s been nothing but positive. All the staff from the maintenance team to the office and corporate are so professional and want the best for the tenant and the property. I couldn’t wait to move out when my lease term was up but decided to renew after seeing the consistency in improvements and repairs around the property. Not only that but they make sure you feel important as tenant. Anytime I submit a maintenance request, it is completed the next day or that same week if they’re booked. The communication is outstanding!! If you have an issue with something they always make sure to follow up after it’s been resolved and take your concerns seriously. I’ve actually never been treated better as a tenant than I have here with the new management team. If you’re looking for a place close to downtown, I would get in quick! This place is improving at such a fast rate, I don’t think their pricing will be this low for much longer.

I have lived within the property for about 3 months now, and overall have enjoyed being here. The main reason I feel that giving a good review is necessary, is that the office staff has been really exceptional so far. I worked w Cassandra when I moved in, and she was great. I’ve spoken with other members of the office staff as well, briefly and in passing, and they too were super nice. It’s been refreshing, and I’m happy to be here.
