The University Manor Apartments are part of Seattle history, preserved in a beautiful 1920's brownstone. Located across the street from the U District Light Rail Station, 2 blocks from the University of Washington Campus and close to all major bus connections. Our community will offer you a wonderful place you can call home. There is a little something for everyone with nearby activities such as paddle boarding at Gas Works, biking along the Burke Gilman Trail, dining at restaurants, shopping along the strip, Husky games, art galleries, theaters, bars and much more. Our units have spacious layouts, great lighting, views, and hardwood floors. We have on-site management, laundry facilities (card operated), a bike room and storage options.

This apartment building has recently done many improvements since Jan 2023. The elevator works more consistently now, it was a big issue when I first moved in. The best thing about U-Manor currently is the property manager, Abby, she goes above and beyond to make the space better! If something breaks or needs improvements she is immediately working to solve it. She communicates well and keeps you up-to-date. This is one of the best places for campus living. Walk to campus and immediate access to public transit (light rail and buses) less than 5 min walk for all 3. I did internships in Bellevue and Redmond and public transit was very easy to commute. If you work downtown or need to go to the airport, the light rail is literally across the street. The Ave with lots of food spots that are open early and late. Trade Joes and Safeway are close 9 min walk. There are no parking spots and street parking is not great in the area, if a car is a must for you I would look at another location. I sold my car when I moved in and I have not needed it. The laundry situation works fine, just make sure not to overload the machines, and if they do break they're fixed fast. The building is pretty old it is kind of quirky but it has character. Old piping so do not put any crazy chemicals through the pipes and let them run a few seconds before you use the water. Overall, great location and a fantastic property manager. Would highly recommend it for student life.

I have lived in this building for about 3 years now and really enjoy it. It was built about 100 years ago and was evidently the crown jewel for when the University District was originally built out--each unit even had an electric icebox built in, which was surely a luxury back in 1928. You feel a high level of craftsmanship that you don't see in modern construction: hand-crafted moldings, chair rails, and such. Best: it was put up before air conditioning was a thing and so you will never find yourself feeling hot in summer--there is a great breeze that passes through. If you want to live in the U District, especially if you are a student, then this is the place for you. We're roughly 2 blocks away from main campus, across the street from the light rail station, and diagonal from the UW Tower.
