I absolutely LOVED living here. The property manager, vonn, really cares about her job and is so so helpful with any and everything. This building has an old school charm and i am so sad to move out of this building. Once i come back to seattle, i will definitely look to the davenport for another apartment. LOVE LOVE LOVE this building!!!!

Run, don't walk, away from The Davenport and Redside Property Management. The building has a persistent package theft problem - management's response to daytime theft within the building was nighttime exterior security. After several months, they installed security cameras in the lobby. If your packages are stolen, they do not respond to requests review footage. After installing interior cameras, they removed exterior security. This allowed an intruder covered in blood to push their way into the building & wander the halls until I encountered them. Lack of courtyard security led to loiterers hanging out in front of courtyard unit windows, testing screens and windows, and staring at occupants. Messes made by loiterers, like broken beer bottles and beer splatter, are left for over a week. People regularly sleep in the building entrances. Management ignores emails asking to address these security issues. The building is in poor condition. The water is shut off about once a week for repairs, and there is poor drainage throughout the building. They install the cheapest items possible, leading to frequent failure of items like sink garbage disposals. They can take over a week to respond to maintenance requests, and then fulfill them up to 4 weeks later - for requests to their equipment failure which could lead to long-term damage. Items like breaker boxes are behind shelves in kitchen cabinets. Trash is left in hallways and stairwells, and lights throughout the building are left unchanged for over a month when their bulbs burn out. Redside has a high turnover of property managers. Their office never picks up, and property managers frequently ignore emails. When their contractor left my shower torn apart, it took 5 days for them to remedy it, and their fix in the meantime was for me to shower in an empty unit down the hallway. Management no-showed the walkthrough at the end of my lease, at the time and date of their choosing, with no communication. If you rent unit 102, prepare for severe sleep deprivation from October through April. Despite management's lies, the boiler room and bulk of pipes runs under unit 102. Its schedule is about 8pm-1am and 5am-10am, and it measures at 70db in the bedroom. It frequently makes noise outside of the operational hours, ruining any chance for a nap to make up for the sleep loss. Management will gaslight you about the noise, that it's an acceptable level. It's not a regular sound with any kind of rhythm or consistency - I can fall asleep at concerts. They will be the most hellish renting experience, and then have the gall to raise rent 15%.
