I moved back to Hillcrest with my husband and our cat just over two years ago. I lived here for about a year in 2008 so when the management (or lack of management) at our previous apartment diminished our quality of life to the point where I wanted to pack up my entire life and haul it across town, this was the first place we looked. The community has gone downhill a bit since I was last here and we were seriously discussing another move in October, but in just a couple months the new manager, Jessica, has really turned things around and we’re no longer looking into moving. I can tell she really cares about the residents and works hard to make sure everyone can feel safe and comfortable in their home. The new maintenance team is great, too. They’ve responded quickly and fixed the few issues we’ve had. The building isn’t brand new and things wear out over time so it happens but we haven’t had to wait long at all for the couple issues we have had to be resolved. The location is great…there is a bus line that goes into downtown to the north or shopping to the south and the stop is maybe a 50 foot walk from the main entrance. The surrounding neighborhood is walkable and neighbors seem friendly. Lincoln park is less than 5 mins by car, as is shopping. Both are easily accessed by bus, as well. We are happy to call Hillcrest home!
