I lived here for two years and honestly out of all the apartments I’ve moved around to this was always the best one. Easily the fastest access to I5. You can enjoy all Seattle has to offer without having the hassle of living in the city as you’re 30 min away. Maintenance was always very fast, friendly, and efficient. Never had issues reaching the office and they were always very polite and respectful. Never had issues with packages being stolen or any crime. Neighbors were loud but that’s literally just apartment life, if u want silence buy a house. Watching the lil ducklings grow up every season was a joy. Overall I can’t think of any complaints about my time here and miss it tbh.

As someone who was wary of apartment life living as a first time renter with my boyfriend, my experience at The Lakes was very pleasant and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
What got me there were the the adorable ducks, charming lake ponds and the units (1 BDR for us) which were decent sizes with an open concept and pretty reasonable in price compared to most of the complexes in Fife and the surrounding cities, Puyallup and Tacoma.
The best benefit was that Kirstie in managment genuinely cares about her tenants needs, questions and concerns. She was always there for us during our struggles with the covid pandemic, we can't thank her enough. The office was always open doors and we never felt like a burden. She was always eager to help, gave us relevent resources during our hard times and kept it real. You can tell she not only takes pride in the complex but authentically cares for the tenants.
Also, shout out to maintance team for working hard to be there for the tenants as well. We've only had minor issues and they were always resolved in a good time frame and worked hard to upkeep the grounds. Overall, def recommend the Lakes.

I have been living in the apartments for almost three years and I can say that it has been a pleasant experience, a very familiar atmosphere, very good communication with the people in the office, each one of them always willing to help, they also have a very good maintenance group, I am referring to Don Rico and Don Nicolas who have helped us whenever we have needed them, they have been attentive to us and have fixed things and have collaborated every time we have asked them to help us.
As a long time resident of The Lakes, 7yrs, I’m a tad baffled by so many low star reviews, it’s been my experience that The Lakes Apts deliver exactly what they claim to, good, clean, well maintained apartments for a reasonable price.
I’ve had a few minor maintenance issues over the years and every single time, the maintenance crew has responded quickly and resolved whatever problem occurred. When I’ve had non maintenance concerns I just call or swing by the office and my issues/concerns have been dealt with to my satisfaction. The last few years my go to gal in the office has been Kirsty , she has the knowledge, skill and authority to handle issues quickly and thoroughly and she’s a pleasure to deal with.
The Lakes is a good place to live.
My wife and I have found this to be a really great place to live. They work hard to keep up the grounds and common areas plus if something needs to be repaired in your unit they get on it immediately they understand it is your home and they strive very hard to make it that way for all the residents. There is virtually no police activity here because the management will not tolerate bad behavior, however the management team are always very quick to respond to issues more than willing to work with you on any issues that may come up. The management team while running a very tight ship are always very friendly and they take time during their very busy day to stop and talk to you and make sure you are happy living here. Because of their management style my wife and I have met all of our neighbors and have actually become really good friends with a couple of them. If you are looking for a really great place to live that is clean and quiet this is the place

Kirsty and Steve, the property managers, are awesome! Hands down the best and most likable property managers I've had. My neighbors were nice too and even though I keep to myself for the most part, my small interactions with them were good. As for the grounds/apartment itself, the dumpster is far away which was slightly annoying but because it had a compactor, at least my trips there weren't ever wasted. At night I could hear frogs and the water fountain outside and it is very relaxing to sleep to. The maintenance staff was always on it when I put in any work orders. My only negative is that in September/october...... Garden spiders and other spiders everywhere!!! I had to have help knocking them down outside my door and then sprayed a ton of antispider spray to keep them away. But inside, I hardly ever saw spiders, so that was nice!
Overall I'd definitely recommend here. And if not for having to get a couple roommates, I'd definitely still be there.
My partner and I had originally signed a one year lease with our two dog at The Lakes as our first place to live together. We JUST finished renewing our lease again to live here for a THIRD year. The community here is a healthy diverse social mix of individuals and families that are all friendly, clean to the best of their abilities, and safe. We weren’t planning on staying for more than the first year, but after living here and experiencing the care that our property managers Steve and Kirstie gave us, we found it really hard to leave.
When I was originally apartment/home hunting, benefits of living so close to I-5, amenities like walk-in closets, a pet friendly community, renovated units, open floor plans, hardwood flooring, washer and dryer in my unit, and a bedroom big enough for my king size bed, were all on my checklist for finding our first place together. The Lakes checked every box and I was sold! We even waited 10 days before we got the keys and skipped getting new flooring because we wanted to move in so bad. Just the outside, walking through property in early July, felt like our own hidden piece of nature, where you can hear running water, ducks, and frogs, even though we’re plopped right next to the High School in the middle of a quickly developing city. It’s quiet in the sense if you like to hear the sounds of nature, but I’d take the loud sounds of nature over the city any day.
On top of all those benefits and amenities that made us move in, it truly is the attention to detail, genuine care, and trustworthy relationship we have with the property managers and maintenance staff at The Lakes. They’ve gone above and beyond the new state regulations to help their community through COVID-19. Anytime we needed a minor plumbing tweak in the unit, it was handled within 24hrs. Quickly and easily replacing lighting fixtures. And even more personally, saving me and my partner and completely preventing a totally random apartment fire. All these reasons and more is why we chose to stay at The Lakes.
I don’t normally write reviews. Sorry if this is long. But making sure a good roof is over my family’s head is super important so I think this review should be too. Thank you for all the good and hard work you all do!
