I didn’t know where to write this review so I’m writing it here. Shep is the best landlord you’ll ever have. I moved here sight unseen from CA, so he waived my pet deposit. I arrived on a Saturday & my unit didn’t appear to have been cleaned & I didn’t have blinds on the bedroom window. The apartment manager let me know that maintenance was off on weekends so I called Shep directly & by the time I got back from running my errands, a cleaning crew was there & I had blinds. I arrived a couple of months before the pandemic & when the pandemic hit, I watched Shep jump through HOOPS to work with ppl about their rent. Honestly, just pay your rent for the month & he’s cool. You’ll never hear from him LOL. I LOVED my appliances and every time I had a maintenance issue, it was basically handled right away. The maintenance staff here are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet in life. Im not sure how Shep vets his tenants but all of the neighbors are super cool. I had a small issue with my downstairs neighbor because of my fan but funny how life works, she apologized to me later & was sad to see me move out. The neighborhood is so convenient & I loved it. Grocery stores, parks, schools, walkable bar, pet friendly, well kept, doctors and dentists all in walking distance. 20 mins from downtown & 7 mins from light rail. I always felt super safe walking my dog at all hours. The downstairs restaurant owners are also super sweet. I lived here for almost 4 years & only moved out because I left the state. If I ever find myself back in Seattle tho (because I miss it already 😩) I’d definitely want to live here again. Lol it’s just a cool building to live. Nobody bothers anyone, ppl are dog friendly, not a bunch of complainers, everyone is understanding really. Not a lot of commotion or noise at all. I honestly never hear ppl when they move in/out. I can’t say enough good things but if you’re on the fence about living here, just do it. It’s a no frills apartment but I managed to make friends here & make my apartment cute & frilly. Lol I had the best view from my balcony & loved hanging out up there with my dog.

Roosevelt Square Apartments 1. During move in the landlord/property manager refused to sign the move in checklist verifying the condition of the apartment avoiding us and ignoring our calls. 2. There seemed to be a new property manager every 6 months and they never really seemed to know what was going on around the property. 3. When we moved out management accused us of changing the locks when we hadn't and charged us our deposit because of it. This was an insane amount of money to change locks and completely unreasonable. When we tried to dispute this with management we got cussed out over the phone about how we were terrible tenants and liars which was incredibly unprofessional. 4. The property always had trash on the ground and the buildings themselves were dirty and under maintenanced. 5. The gates were often broken and the grounds themselves were easy to access by anyone resulting in people breaking into cars and defacing the property on a regular basis. 6. The property cameras are for show and don't work.
