hello internet! after almost 5 years, our fourth roommate is leaving our awesome house to move to denmark, so we are seeking a wonderful new person to move in may first. could it be you? please read this whole posting, and then write us and tell us why you'd be a good fit for us. ******* about the house: it is a whole house -- there is truly a ton of space. we have 2 stories plus a basement and small backyard, a large eat-in kitchen and 2 huge common rooms. washer/dryer in the basement, dishwasher in the kitchen. there's a piano and an amazing dog (see photo below). blazing fast internet and WiFi throughout the house additional appliances include: juice maker, soda maker, video game consoles (xbox, playstation and wii), projector, awesome sound system and more fun bonus stuff your monthly rent covers the room and we add an extra $100 a month for the utilities/internet (hot and cold running WiFi, water, power, gas and trash). no cats, sorry, one of us is allergic. ******* about the room: it's a large room (approx. 14x13) with a walk-in closet on the second floor. room faces the backyard, so limited to no street noise. it gets great afternoon light from a couple windows. the floor is hardwood. the pictures below really don't do it justice, but you can get a sense of dimensions. you can paint and redecorate any way you'd like. ******* about us: 3 humans and one amazing little dog. the humans are all in our late 20s/early 30s. some of us work in the IT/software world, one of us works in the non-profit sphere (hey, it's SF after all...). we have varying interests from making visual art to yoga to prancing around the city, but we will often get together to watch movies or ru paul's drag race. 420 friendly. we like to cook together and share produce/groceries. we like to throw parties from time to time, with oontzy oontzy tunes, nommable food and not *too* much booze. we try to keep the house fairly clean and communicate frequently about any ideas/suggestions/comments/issues. we have weekly chores that keep the house in a reasonable condition. ******* about you: please be clean, mature, queer/alternative lifestyle friendly, interested in having honest and straightforward discussions. dog friendly, since we have a little dog. you are welcome to contribute a second dog if you have a well-behaved fuzzy friend who gets along with ours. bonus points if you like to cook and want to cook with us. extra bonus points if you enjoy playing rock band or like to make music. ****** about the neighborhood: we're in the mission, which you are probably already familiar with. but we're in an area that's a bit away from the main drag, which makes street parking super easy and means it's pretty quiet at night. you can easily walk to BART (about 10-15 minutes to 24th station), get on the 101/280 or bike to the fun. we love this area -- our neighbors are awesome and there's a bunch of great restaurants and bars right around the corner. if you have any questions about this spot, we're happy to answer them. we'd love for you to feel at home here and part of our yorkhaus family. contact us and let us know when you're free to come by and meet us!
