I had one of the best tours I’ve had in a long time when looking for an apartment, the woman that gave me a tour was super nice and very understanding when I was confused about something. she made sure to answer any question I had about the place and the neighborhood and the other people living around the surrounding area. Her name was Bailee, I wasn’t for sure how to feel because she seemed super young but she is one of the best tours I’ve been on, I highly recommend this place and if you decide to do a tour I highly highly suggest asking for Bailee! I will most definitely be looking into getting an apartment here!

Overall, The Place Is AMAZING! What I love about the Des Moines Building is that the location is convenient for just about everything; there’s even a dog park on my floor! I know people complain about parking but if you know the Street system it’s not bad at all there’s even FREE parking garages near.. Also the building offers a variety of options for monthly parking.. But the building is cleaned EVERYDAY and management is ALWAYS on top of things, so on top of things my issues or concerns are usually fixed by the same day or within a few days. And the amenities are just as great because there’s nothing like having a view of the whole town and a gym plus arcade in your basement :) I’ve been here since February and I never had an issue with this building (besides with cuteness overload from pigeons on the rooftop haha). Everything is updated from my countertop, appliances, to LG thermostat to glass fireplace, WOW ! I also love the rent is very affordable for tenants also pet rent is dirt CHEAP! You also have access to what’s going on in the building right through your residential portal phone app. I feel that the Des Moines Building new management team has done an immaculate job fixing up the slack from past management reviews and if your thinking about moving here give it a try because you won’t regret the monthly events they host here :)

I had to suddenly find a place to live after getting accepted off of the waitlist for medical school in Des Moines (I'm from the South). I wanted a safe, affordable, and quiet apartment. I called many other apartment complexes, but the property managers either weren't helpful, called me weeks later (after I signed at Canary already), or never called me back at all. This wasn't the case at all with Canary Lofts. The Property Manager (Cassidy) was helpful from the get go, and continues to be now that I'm a resident here. The rent and utilities are very affordable, and management is always on top of everything. Canary Lofts is also conviently centered to where you don't really drive more than 15 minutes in any direction of where you need to go. It's also across the street from Drake University, and a 6 minute drive to DMU. Highly recommended for college students, graduate students, and/or young professionals!
