I had to suddenly find a place to live after getting accepted off of the waitlist for medical school in Des Moines (I'm from the South). I wanted a safe, affordable, and quiet apartment. I called many other apartment complexes, but the property managers either weren't helpful, called me weeks later (after I signed at Canary already), or never called me back at all. This wasn't the case at all with Canary Lofts. The Property Manager (Cassidy) was helpful from the get go, and continues to be now that I'm a resident here. The rent and utilities are very affordable, and management is always on top of everything. Canary Lofts is also conviently centered to where you don't really drive more than 15 minutes in any direction of where you need to go. It's also across the street from Drake University, and a 6 minute drive to DMU. Highly recommended for college students, graduate students, and/or young professionals!

Have lived here for a few years, gone through management changes, by far Amanda has been the best! She is prompt and kind. She is personable and understand. He is always so friendly, we'll see him around grounds and he always waves. Honestly one of the best apartments to live in! Edit: Ever since the new management has taken over we have had trouble. Our hot water has been not properly working. We went as far as to call the city to inspect our apartment, they came and only then was something done about it. We still have a giant hole in our kitchen wall from them doing so. We were told they would fix it within a week and it's been at least a month. Once again on Thanksgiving our hot water is out, our cold water is hotter than our hot. Do not lease here. We use to love living here but now it has done nothing but give me anxiety. Not mention they now have now leasing banners out front trying to draw people in when they can't even take care of their current tenants. 📖Edit part two: I am very pleased with how thing are now getting taken care of. Miguel is back as our mantince man. The hole in the wall is fixed and our hot water is back to Parr. I love living in this apartment complex, I am very happy to call Windsor terrace home again.
