120 sq. ft. room @ 101st & West End Ave Come check out this 4th floor room for one in a pre-war co-op with an elevator - 5 min. walk from the 1, 2, & 3 subway lines and Riverside Park; 15 min. walk from the A, C, & E lines, Central Park, and Columbia University's main campus. You will be sharing the apartment with me (my parents own the place, but I still pay them rent) and a college friend of mine. I work in tech, he's a psychology Ph. D student. We are both mid-20s males in long-term relationships, pretty quiet and mindful, not neat freaks but certainly on the tidier side than the typical dude. We'll all share responsibility for keeping the place clean. I manage the property for my parents, so any concerns can go directly to me - I'll fix things myself if I can, or else pass it on to my parents or the superintendent. We share a full bathroom, as well as a living room, dining room, and kitchen connected by archways. In the kitchen there is a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, stove oven, and toaster oven for general use. In the dining room, up to 6 can sit around the table. In the living room, bay windows face onto the street corner, and there is also a computer connected to a 42" TV which functions as a de facto smart TV. A couch, a futon, and a La-Z-Boy offer additional sitting and sleeping options. You'll be expected to tolerate short-term house guests with fair advance warning and are welcome to have your own if you give the same. However, we try to be respectful neighbors and you won't be able to have loud late-night parties here. Building amenities include washing machines, dryers, and a bike storage room (all pay-per-use). No entryway attendants, but a very attentive superintendent. Your room comes partially furnished with a futon and chest of drawers (both optional). There are also a walk-in closet, a window-mounted air conditioner, a radiator, window blinds, and dimmable ceiling lights. The room has a very small balcony, which is only accessible via window and can only fit three people standing side-by-side, but ours is one of just a few apartments in the building that has a balcony at all. Nice to have on a good day! There is no (legitimate) roof access, unfortunately. Utilities not included; add about $50/mo for gas, electricity, and 100mbps Internet (with ethernet cable in room via power-line technology). Although I can only currently offer the apartment until some time in September, I may be able to offer a longer-term agreement in August, depending on my family situation.
