We were exploring other apartments in the area when we stumbled upon this hidden gem. Despite arriving late in the day, we were pleasantly surprised when they offered us a self-guided tour, making it easy for us to see everything firsthand.
The amenities immediately stood out, especially the pool, which we loved. The property also features six electric car charging stations, in-house storage, bike storage, a pet spa, a dog run, and a courtyard with grills and seating. As both my wife and I work from home, the office space was a huge bonus, and we could easily envision ourselves making great use of it.
The entire process—from applying to moving in—was incredibly swift and seamless.
Since we moved in, we’ve been warmly welcomed by both fellow residents and the staff. Everyone, from Jimmy on the maintenance team to Mackenzie, who followed up with emails to ensure everything was going smoothly, has made the transition effortless. Special mention to Jae Lynn and Yasmin in the leasing office for their kindness, flexibility, and attention to detail throughout what could have been a stressful process. Any concerns we’ve had were promptly addressed, showing just how much the team genuinely cares.
We’re also impressed by the strong sense of community fostered through regular tenant events. It’s clear that management prioritizes positive engagement, and we look forward to being part of this vibrant environment.
The surrounding neighborhood adds even more to the experience, with its lively array of restaurants and cafes that are sure to excite any foodie.
The only critique I have is that the dog run is quite small, and access to the area is limited and poorly lit at dusk. This means I often have to bring a flashlight when taking my dogs out and make sure to get there before it closes for the night.
The Current on River is such a cozy & modern apartment which is also close to everything like Walmart, Target, Costco, Aldi, amongst many good restaurants. It's perfect for my fiancee & I being it's not too far of a commute from our jobs. We've been here about a month now & we have no complaints! It has everything we asked for - indoor garage, in unit washer/dryer, gym, pool, bbq deck, secure mailroom, large event/community space, work areas, free coffee, & even a bicycle storage room & pet spa! This apartment is like an upscale hotel. JP, the leasing manager has been an absolute pleasure to work with & made the entire application process easy. To the day of our move in, he made sure all our questions were answered & we felt welcomed. The resident portal is super easy to use where you can submit work orders for any maintenance related issues etc. & usually it's actioned within the next day. All in all, I'm glad we did the 2 yr lease agreement because I don't see ourselves wanting to go anywhere else anytime soon.
Newly built clean apartment. Great amenities and facilities including the Pet Sauna, bicycle storage and swimming pool. Relatively convenient to commute to the NY city.
The current on river has been such a home to me for the past 3 years. The community here is amazing. However, it’s been 6 months without a leasing office manager after Julie left. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN GOING DOWNHILL.
JP who works at the leasing office, has been taking everything over his shoulder, doing the best he can to keep this building from falling down. He is here during the week and on Saturdays making sure he’s doing everything for the current ALONE. Marrisa came in September and took JP under her wings to help him out.
We don’t seem to get a manager anytime soon, and I would like for management to consider JP for the role of manager as he already puts all his time and effort into his job and it goes unnoticed.
If we continue to not have a manger next year and more things are falling apart, my mother and I are looking for new apartment buildings. Because when Julie was around and running things, everything was okay and running smoothly, and I think the best next person is JP for that role. It’s not fair how management don’t see him fitting for the manager position after Julie left.
Even when Aleen was here for a short time, she didn’t know how to run things properly in the office and was always out of the office, when we needed to speak with her.

I’ve been living at the current for a few months now and it has been a very pleasant experience. The property is beautiful. The apartments have beautiful finishes and are super comfortable. Aside from the apartments being beautiful it’s a very quiet community I have had zero complaints and am really happy with my choice of this building vs the others in Hackensack.
The leasing staff is amazing! Jaelynn was great throughout the leasing and moving in process. Yasmin has also been amazing with helping us with any concerns and questions and she hosts great community events. Def a 10/10
As a resident for three years, I am consistently impressed with the exceptional upkeep, customer service, and professionalism exhibited by the entire team. The office staff are always courteous and efficient, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively. The housekeeping team keeps the premises spotless, adding to the pleasant living environment.
The maintenance staff are not only skilled but also incredibly responsive, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly. I would like to give a special shout out to our super, Suad, and maintenance worker, Jimmy. Their dedication and hard work truly stand out, making a significant positive impact on our community.Their commitment to excellence is greatly appreciated and has made my experience here truly enjoyable.
In short I am super happy with everything about The current on River!!!!
We just rented an apartment so it’s a little soon to leave a review but there is something special in the DNA in all of the staff and that is something we are looking very forward to. Kindness, friendly, helpful, patient and the willing to do everything possible to make things work.
We went around to many of the luxury apartment complexes and buildings. And none of them were even remotely like the current on river. From holding open the doors, to the quality of the built-in furniture. And last but not least it’s the smaller things that make the environment in the hallways and lobbies, office space, gym, pet spa, pool area and more all of these areas are furnished such a beautiful style character and care.
Last but not least, so far all of the residence have a very nice connection somewhere quiet and some are more social. The perfect balance!!!!
there are so much more that I didn’t get to say, hopefully if you’re looking into renting a apartment at the current on River you’ll get a chance to see everything for yourself. Don’t forget to try the coffee machine :-)

Everyone in leasing is amazing ..Jhon and Jae Lynn had been a great help with everything since day one. The maintenance came up and work on a few things (washer hot water and adding a closet rack) Suad was here with another co worker and they were amazing. I felt bad for asking for so many things all at once and they never once flinched at any request, most people usually have an attitude and they had smiles and were very welcoming and made me feel safe and secure to ask anything and I really liked that.
