The Place: - 1 Bedroom in a 4-bedroom aparment, a 2 minute walk from Davis Square. Amazing location, quiet and backing on to the bike path. - Only one bathroom, shared between 4 people - Large living room and kitchen - All hardwood/lino floor (no carpet) - Second of three floors, with a front deck, and a nice back yard garden (shared with other building residents) - Room is not furnished. Our outgoing roommate owns some of the living room & kitchen furniture, so feel free to bring a clean couch, etc. If not, we will likely purchase some new items to get us back in shape! - We don't have cable, but wifi only. We have a TV with a few gaming systems, blu ray player, and netflix. - FREE washer & dryer in the basement, shared between 3 total apartments. - The available room has two windows, is near the back of the apartment off the kitchen, and can comfortably fit a queen bed, desk, dresser, etc. It also is the only bedroom with a closet! The Money: - Rent is $2400, split four ways, so your share is $600. - First, last, plus a $500 security deposit required to move in (total $1700) - We split utilities, which range from $60-$95 per person, depending on the month. - Room is available June 1st. We all re-sign a one-year lease in September, so the ideal candidate would be looking to continue through Sept, on to the next 2013-2014 lease. We strongly prefer this as opposed to a summer sublet. The Responsibilities: - On the first weekend of each month, we clean the apartment. It's divided in to 4 areas, and we rotate each month, so one person isn't always stuck cleaning the bathroom, etc. - Each roommate has an ongoing responsibility, i.e. emptying the kitchen garbage, or putting out the cans on garbage day, or going through all the junk mail. - We have a "clean as you go" lifestyle. A bowl and a couple utensils in the sink overnight is not an issue, but we all generally clean up after ourselves right away. - No smoking or drugs inside the apartment (our landlord also does not want us smoking on the balcony) The Roomies: - 3 guys, late 20's to early 30's - 2 hardworking professionals, 1 hard-studying grad student - We have varying schedules, sometimes up at 5am, sometimes coming home from work at 2am. - We tend to keep the party away from the apartment. We all work/study hard, and it's nice to come home to a quiet, chill place. - Please note this is for ONE person only, however, you're welcome to have friends/significant others over, just a courtesy email to the rest of the roomies is appreciated, and respecting each other's work/sleep/study schedules. - We all have our own lives, but enjoy sharing a couple beers, cooking a meal, and watching the odd movie or just hanging out and talking. Overall, for the price, location, and quality of the apartment, we know this is a good find, and are interviewing for the right roommate.
