Looking for a new roommate to move into an amazing 3 bedroom home with front port and yard at the end of the month! The house is half a mile from the Crystal City metro and two blocks off of historic 23rd St., which is host to a variety of restaurants/bars. There are several grocery stores within walking distance or a 5 minute drive (Harris Teeter, Costco, Giant). DC and Old Town Alexandria are only a 10 minute drive away. DCA is less than a 5 minute drive! A little about the current roomies: Zack is a young professional who is creative, fun-loving, and in addition to working full time in his field, is working on his MA in education at GMU. He cooks many delicious varieties of stir fry, plays the guitar, and works on his old car. Griffin is a twenty-something male that works in Alexandria as an actuary at an insurance company. He loves board games, podcasts, and baking yummy pies and cookies. He relies on public transit (as did the roommate that is moving on). There are two bedrooms on the first floor. The room for rent is actually the entire upstairs of the house. It's hard to put into words how unique the setup is! It's not a full second floor due to sloped ceilings but these have been crafted into an incredible amount of storage. There is also a large full bathroom and a stackable washer/dryer that you will have to yourself (there is a full size washer and dryer in the basement). It is functionally a two room suite with a door that shuts over the staircase. The smaller room is great as an office or for any other purpose! There is a driveway parking spot available and a street permit is also not expensive and there is always ample parking. Utilities are not included but usually run about $50-$70 a month depending on the season. Our landlord lives a few doors down, and takes care of all of the yard work. A master suite is available in a quiet neighborhood in Crystal City. The suite is the entire top floor of two-story house, and contains two rooms, a large private bath, plentiful closet and storage space, and a washer/dryer unit. The larger room is spacious enough for a queen sized bed, dresser, or other medium-sized furniture items. I use the smaller room as an office, and it is big enough to hold a large desk and other smaller furniture items. The bathroom is very large, with a walk-in tile shower, toilet nook, and large bureau. The entire top floor is newly finished, and very private and quiet. The house has central heat/air, and there is also an AC unit on the top floor. The bottom floor of the house has a full kitchen, dining area, and living room. The space is shared with two other roommates, a guy and a girl, both working professionals. Both roomies are lovely people and like to keep the house clean and quiet. Occasionally have friends over, but never loud parties. The house is kept in great shape by our landlord, who lives two doors down. All landscaping, lawn care, and house maintenance is taken care of by him. There is street parking, which is free with permit from the city of Arlington. The Crystal City metro (yellow/blue lines) is about a 10-minute walk from the house, and the house is close to shopping and restaurants in the Pentagon City/Crystal City area. There is an LA Fitness about a 10-minute walk from the house. The rent is $1225, and utilities usually run about $100/month. Four utility bills are owned by the three people in the main house and the person in the basement studio apartment. The current lease goes until May 31, 2015. There is a short rental application, and the landlords require a credit check (which they take care of at no cost). Landlords will ask for a security deposit of $500 and first month's rent once the lease is signed. Available immediately or September 1.
