I have one room in my 2-bedroom and 1.5-bath apartment available in December. The room for rent is the larger of the two bedrooms, and easily fits a queen bed and a relatively large desk with space to spare. The apartment is in a great, largely residential, location in Capitol Hill, and is very close to bars, dining, and public transportation. I've been living here for over a year, so the apartment is fully furnished (except for the bedroom), but I'm certainly willing to rearrange or remove some things to accommodate some furniture/artwork/posters/etc that you might want to bring with you. Rent would be $1,200 per month, plus electric, gas, and Internet (no more than $80-90 per person on average). The landlord pays the water bills, does not allow pets, and would likely require a 12-month lease (which would turn into a month-to-month arrangement after the lease expires). About the apartment: -Spacious with lots of natural light -Currently fully furnished (except for the available bedroom) -Located on the second floor of a 2-floor rowhouse, so you won't have to listen to people stomping around above you. -Small but private deck at the back of the apartment -Full-size washer and dryer in the apartment -Dishwasher -Garbage disposal -Gas stove and oven -Central air and heat -Ceiling fan in living room About the location: -2 blocks from the bars and restaurants on H Street -10 minute walk to Union Station metro -15 minute walk to Eastern Market metro -25 minute walk to the Capitol and the National Mall -Across the street from a Capital Bikeshare station -Directly on the 90, 92, and 93 bus routes (and very close to the X1, X2, X8, X9, D6, and D8 routes). -Across the street from a corner store with a surprisingly decent selection of beer and wine, as well as all of the grocery and household basics -10 minute walk to Giant Food About me: I'm in my mid-to-late 20s, male, and work full-time (usually home by 6 pm) with occasional work-related travel. I try to keep the apartment relatively clean and neat, and am always willing to grab a beer after work. I'm a fairly easy-going guy, and get along well with most people.
