Kick back at this beachfront 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom spot in a quiet part of Crystal Beach. It’s just steps from the sand with awesome ocean views. You’ve got two king bedrooms and a bunk room with twin-over-queen bunks. Big deck, full kitchen, and nothing but beach between you and the water. Super chill, plenty of space, great for families or groups. Inside the house, there are three bedrooms. Two of them have king beds, and the third has two twin over queen bunks. Each room has its own TV, so everyone can kick back and relax. The living room is spacious and open, with plenty of seating for everyone. The full kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and hang out together. Outside, there’s a large front deck with a clear view of the beach. No roads or buildings in the way, just sand and waves. Downstairs, guests can use the covered patio area, which includes an outdoor shower, a grill, and a dining space. All indoor and outdoor areas are available to guests during their stay. Gilchrist is a laid-back, seaside community snuggled on the Bolivar Peninsula in Galveston County. It’s all about chilled-out beach vibes, wide-open shorelines, and classic Gulf Coast charm. The neighborhood is pretty close-knit, mixing year-round residents with seasonal visitors looking for that quieter alternative to the busier beach towns. The beach here features soft white sand, easy access off Highway 87, and unobstructed ocean views—great for long walks, early-morning coffee by the water, or watching the sun set. While there are some local eateries, bars, and marinas nearby (Crystal Beach is just a short drive), Gilchrist has a low-key, more residential feel—no crowds, no big resort scene—just simple, charming coastal living. Named after engineer Gibb Gilchrist, the area also has a neat history tied to the old Rollover Pass fishing hotspot—though that pass is now sealed, the community’s ties to fishing and beach life remain strong. Expect a small-town, peaceful getaway with easy beach access, lots of nature, and a friendly, laid-back neighborhood feel perfect for unplugging and enjoying the coast. Here are the best ways to get around in and around the neighborhood: Car Since Gilchrist is a small, spread-out area along Highway 87, having a car is the easiest and most convenient way to explore. You can drive to nearby spots like Crystal Beach, marinas, local shops, and restaurants. Plus, for anyone crossing from Galveston Island, the Galveston–Port Bolivar Ferry is free and runs 24/7—it’s about an 18-minute ride. Golf Cart Golf carts are super popular around here and allowed on most roads and beaches (except on Highway 87). Park them, cruise the beach, or ride over to a neighbor’s. Rentals are easy with places like West Canal Beach Buggies and Golf Car Connection delivering right to you. Max occupancy is 10 people. Additional guests must be approved before booking. Only registered guests are allowed and visitors need prior approval. No parking under the house. Park on the driveway only and be careful not to hit the pilings. Absolutely no smoking. No parties or events. No illegal activity on the property. Don’t leave food out—it attracts pests. Keep things reasonably clean during your stay to make check-out easier. Report any accidental damage as soon as possible so I can assess the situation and handle it accordingly. Keep noise down during nighttime hours. Don’t move any furniture inside or outside. That includes chairs, picnic tables, etc. Grill on..
