Available immediately!! Year lease with possibility to renew. We have a large, furnished sunny room opening on the second floor of our beautiful 3 bdr/1.5 bath row house in Columbia Heights, a 10-minute walk to the Columbia Heights metro and walking distance to Petworth, Shaw, and Columbia Heights neighborhoods. Room The room available is a large master bedroom on the second floor with TWO closets. The room comes furnished with a queen-sized bed, bed frame, desk, office chair, and bookcase so is perfect for someone moving to the city or someone who travels light. Rent is $1250 per month plus utilities which average around $80/month/person throughout the year (lower in summer, higher in winter). House The house is newly remodeled with a gorgeous fully-equipped kitchen. Actual quote from one of the roommates: "Sometimes I just want to make love to this kitchen." Because it is that beautiful. We also have a nice half bath on the first floor and a full bath on the second, both also newly remodeled. We believe in keeping all common areas neat and clean, and we also have a monthly cleaning service to keep everything looking great (cleaning service is included in utilities). The dining area also includes an antique piano, record player, and sizeable library. Roommates Diana is working in international development, and Julie is working at a labor union. We like to hang out in the evenings, invite friends over and eat delicious foods (that Diana cooks, Julie is trying but sometimes she struggles and just eats hummus), watch tv, and jam. We also have our own schedules and appreciate and respect quiet alone time. You We're looking for someone who is respectful, clean, fun, nice, progressive, LGBT-friendly, and great at communicating. Also someone who is flexible and open to meeting new people. We love hosting casual get togethers, non-casual get togethers, and excessively casual get togethers which is really just us sitting on the couch, drinking wine, and critiquing pop culture through a feminist lens. Ideally, you would be down to participate in all of the above but 2 out of 3 could also work. Next steps Send us an email telling us about yourself, what you're looking for in a housing situation, and why you think this house may be a good fit. We're scheduling interviews for this week and next and hope to have someone move in ASAP. Before signing the lease, our landlord will need to see proof of employment, references, and a $40 nonrefundable fee for credit/background check. Security deposit is 1-month's rent. Looking forward to hearing from you!
