The furnished corporate rental that feels like an upscale hotel room someone forgot to give a soul. Or the empty year-long lease on a place you have to furnish, wire, and sort out before you can even start the job. One has no warmth. The other has no flexibility. Neither feels like a home. Then you open the door to this one. The light hits you first, pouring through the double pane windows and washing every room, and right behind it comes the quiet, the kind you don't expect from a street minutes from The Grove. It's a 1920s house with real soul, reimagined top to bottom by Bunch Design, the acclaimed LA studio whose work lives in Dwell and the LA Times. The original character was kept, the Batchelder fireplace, the hardwood, the period lines, while everything behind the walls, the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, was made new.
