My husband is a new resident here and also a teacher which makes application processing very difficult for him with his schedule. I ended up having to take on a lot of making sure his paperwork and things were submitted and let me just say that penny and apple were amazing through this whole process. We got the wonderful opportunity to meet apple from the very beginning and she was delightful to work with. She showed us the apartment and wasn’t rushing us through. I got the opportunity to work with penny over the phone and she was so just upbeat and fun and that was just over the phone! She was so appreciative of me handling things for a smooth process and i really appreciated that! I finally got to meet her in person after hyping her up to my husband and she was everything i pictured and more! She’s such a fun and warm person. It’s like being in her presence is like being around a friend that you’ve know for years! My husband and i couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful she is and how much he’s going to love living there. I will also like to add that although I’m not a current resident there yet i love the community. I visit my husband when i can due to my work schedule but i just love that he’s happy where he is finally. I love that he considers this a place where he would stay for awhile. I’m happy to have been a part of this process and i recommend this place 1000%.

Where do I start ! I’ve been living here since February 2020, 3 months after I moved from San Francisco and I can’t say anything bad about living here. When I did my search of places I truly wanted to be able to see the potential empty apartment I would be able to move into. When I came Tina showed me the exact unit I would be moving into as well as the desired floor I wanted. I appreciate the new stainless steel appliances, floor to ceiling big windows, screened in porch, ceiling fan in the bedroom 🥵 , and the fireplace.
The staff is always looking out! Keeping our community looking beautiful, adding new touches here and there, and love that maintenance is always on point . I can’t stress enough how grateful I am for such a great maintenance team y’all are the sh*t! Ivan , Ray and the awesome lady groundskeeper (I’m so sorry i forget her name, please forgive me). Penny is a nice manager, very helpful & understanding which I appreciate so much. Pernease is the best, I just love how sweet she is. I’m thankful for you guys making my stay in Charlotte such a great one .
I rented a "junior one bedroom" at The Villages 2012-2014. The apartment was called a junior one bedroom but the office manager, Penny, told me it was more like an efficiency with a wall between the living room and bedroom area...which was true. Rented the apartment sight unseen since there were no open apartments when I was apartment hunting. I was happy with my decision!! The apartment was just for myself. Had I been moving in with a girlfriend it would have been kind of cramped. I was there before the kitchens and bathrooms were upgraded. The apartment had washer and dryer connections but only an apartment sized stacked or stackable unit(s) could be used. Never had a problem with the rental office, the grounds were well kept, and they did have some type of community event once a month. The one drawback that will effect you on a month to month basis is (was?) that the windows weren't very energy efficient. In the winter expect to run the heat a lot. These apartments are relatively close to the Sharon Rd West Lynx station BUT the walk will be up a decent incline hill to Sharon Rd West that has no sidewalk (since I was living there the street leading up to Sharon Rd West has a sidewalk now). The traditional one and two bedroom apartments have a screened in deck, the space for a full sized washer and dryer and fireplace. I would definitely rent here again if I still lived in the area. Penny was always a pleasure to deal with when going in to the office.
I loved living there - the property is set way back off main road - hardly any kids - quiet - and management and maintenance were always on top of everything. The grounds are clean and the pool is awesome. They also have a laundry and work out room in the facility. I would have never moved if I had not bought a house!
I'm writing this review specifically to highlight how big of a role Penny, played in making this process smooth for me. She was incredibly sweet and considerate throughout my entire move in! She exuded kindness from the very first moment we were in contact and went out of her way to get things situated. She worked very quickly and diligently which was greatly appreciated. I cannot find a way to thank her enough. The villages is a beautiful property that became especially great after being exposed to a property manager who genuinely cares about their residents!
I love the Villages Apartments! I live there now and I also lived there 25+ years ago. It is in a great location near I-77 and 485 just off South Blvd. Easy access to the train to downtown Charlotte. Close to shopping but also in a quiet neighborhood and near walking paths. Penny (the manager) and her staff are fantastic! They are always there to make my living experience comfortable and happy. I love the screened in porch and so does my indoor cat. He is so happy to go out on the porch anytime he wants. I even get a small roll of sod (grass) every couple weeks to put out there on plastic trays so he can experience outdoor life. I am happy he is safe and not roaming the neighborhood. I love that Penny is always thinking of great ways to make the community and residents lives better. That means a great deal to me and all of the residents. Thanks Penny!

So far, I have LOVED my stay here at the villages. Literally everyone has been so nice, from office staff to the community. Maintenance has been great, Jeff is awesome and provides timely services. The pool and laundry room have stayed clean, as well as the apartment grounds. I rented a one bed one bath and the layout is so nice with plenty of storage. Only downside is the kitchen is a bit small and doesn’t have a pantry, but it gets the job done. I have purchased a hutch which allows me to have a little more storage for my appliances.
I love the location of the apartments, as it is not directly off a main road and is tucked away. HUGE shoutout to Penny and Apple for always being so kind. They genuinely go above and beyond for the residents here, and now-a-days you don’t see that often. For the price of these apartments, I genuinely feel like I’ve gotten the bang for my buck!
