This is a peaceful, residential area with an excellent walking and bike score! This first floor apartment features hardwoods through out the roomy living room and generously sized bedroom. The separate dining room has a deep walk in closet leading to the back door with space for bikes. It's quite energy efficient for vintage apartments; windows are double pane, and the attics, exterior walls and crawlspaces are insulated. Parking is included but there is plentiful street parking in the neighborhood. Lovely garden courtyards abound throughout the property with persimmons, pines, magnolias and huge rhododendrons, perfect for taking in the flora and fauna. Macleay is close to NW Portland favorites just a couple blocks away: Excellent bistro's, pastries at Saint Honore Boulangerie, the Library, Chapman Elementary, Good Sam (Hospital), Bus lines, Streetcar, easy Freeway access. Forest Park abuts the property but it's also close to Wallace Park (dog park, playground, tennis, basketball courts). A 10 minute drive gets you to OHSU and PSU and it's a quick trip to access I-5 or 405. We welcome cats and most dogs but there are some restrictions. Adjacent to Forest Park, it's easy to take advantage of the cool shade and beautiful mature trees. It's a short trip to many hiking and biking trails. If the woods aren't your thing, enjoy being outside at Wallace Park just a short distance away. Macleay Gardens features an onsite laundry, some offstreet parking and ease of accessing the thriving NW Alphabet district. You'll also find it easy to get to I-405, Hwy 30 and I-5. But you'll still feel insulated from the hubbub in this established residential neighborhood. Bring your pets too! Non-smoking building. Renters Insurance is required. Equal opportunity housing.
