I have moved out of my 8 bedroom, three bath, three level (plus a partially finished attic with a finished family room/office and some unfinished storage area) family home and am hoping a large family/extended family or group (note the city of Hyattsville says no more than five unrelated people can live in the house, unless they have an exemption like a religious order or similar group) can put it to good use. It can legally sleep at least 16 people, as the bedrooms meet the requirement of at least 120 square feet for two people per bedroom, and two of the bedrooms could sleep at least three people. The first level has one medium size and one large bedroom, a large dining room, a kitchen, bathroom, and laundry/mud room. The second level has a bathroom and four bedrooms (note currently the small fourth bedroom is set up as a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, cabinets, microwave, countertop oven and modern countertop convection hot plate, i.e. no stove, in conformity with regulations. I can leave it as is for a seven bedroom house or convert it back to the 8th bedroom.). The attic has a finished room with HVAC mini split for tv/office room, and an unfinished storage space. The basement is renovated with two legal bedrooms with egress windows, a bathroom, a tv/family room, and a kitchenette with no stove, but refrigerator, microwave, sink, cabinets, and countertop oven and modern hot plate. The basement has an entrance both from the first level and from outside. The front outside has a small covered porch with table and three chairs. Backyard has a small deck with grill. I have a parking pad for two cars plus a long driveway for extra cars. There is room on the street for three cars, but it gets busy (Sargent Road) and it’s best to park on the nearby side street as my car has been hit while parked in the street. I have a wheelchair ramp from the parking pad to the rear deck and back door into the laundry/mud room. The first floor kitchen and the first floor and upstairs bathrooms are original from the 1940s with metal cabinets in the kitchen so the rent is discounted accordingly (the basement and the attic room were renovated seven years ago and the basement was just painted.). The first and second floor walls were painted and floors finished when I moved in seven years ago. The basement and attic have new mini splits for hvac. The first and second levels have combined hvac with new furnace and outside condenser. The house passed lead paint inspection and is licensed by prince georges county. Available November 18, possibly sooner, as there is currently a family of four occupying the first level, for a couple more months. Rent is $4,000 plus utilities (water, gas, electric, Wi-Fi) which averaged about $840 per month for 14 people, or about $60 per person, depending on frequency of washing machine use, lights being left on, etc. Bus stop in front. Fort Totten Green and Red line metro 1.2 miles away. Three blocks north of DC line.
