I am seeking a roommate for a beautiful, large two-bedroom apartment in Mount Pleasant/Columbia Heights, starting August 1. The full rent is $3,000 and does not include utilities with the exception of water. Your share would be $1,500. The apartment is in a old building, with a large living room, wood floors and bedrooms at opposite ends. They each have their own full bath and balcony. Your bedroom is completely unfurnished, and the rest of the apartment is but I'm happy to discuss changing some furniture if that's helpful. The bedroom is 11' by 16'. The apartment has a washer and dryer in unit. There is a large dining room table, separate full kitchen with a dishwasher, and gorgeous roof top terrace. The landlords are attentive but not intrusive. I am in my 30s, female, and moved to DC a few years ago for a job in international development after completing a master's degree in public policy. I was in the Peace Corps just before that. I'm really into food and travel (though not the magazine), am pretty active and social, and relatively clean and neat. I like to have friends over for dinner semi-regularly, and am always happy to welcome new friends as well. I hope you to be a professional, willing to live without a TV in the living room but tolerant of a bike next to the dining room table, conscious of things like energy use and recycling and happy to compost, interesting and respectful.
