My absolutely wonderful roommate just got a new job in North Carolina, so I'm looking for a new roommate for my long-time Capitol Hill rental. I love the space and the neighborhood too much to leave! It's a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment on the second and third floors of a row house on the Hill. The location is great - about 8 blocks from the Eastern Market and Union Station metros, near the fun on H Street and literally down the street from Barracks' Row. The available space includes a decent-sized bedroom, bathroom, and a small loft area. The bedroom comes unfurnished; it comfortably fits a queen bed, shelves, night stand, and a small dresser or desk. There is a 3/4 bathroom connected to your bedroom. The loft space is about 7x7 and located immediately outside your bedroom. The apartment features a shared washer and dryer (no quarters!), balcony, and a small but functional kitchen. The living room is shared and already furnished. Photos of the kitchen, living room, loft, and available bedroom are attached. Most of my roommate's belongings are already on their way to North Carolina, which makes it a bit difficult to get a feel for the size of the loft and room (and makes it look sad!), so there are photos of how the loft and bedroom look now while relatively empty, and how the spaces looked when furnished by the prior tenant. As for me, I'm a 31-year-old professional who moved to DC after college for grad school and stayed. I work a lot during the week (but always make time to keep up with Top Chef or catch a Nats game). I spend my weekends cooking & hosting dinner parties, catching a movie, or grabbing a few drinks with friends - hopefully to soon include you! I'm friendly, kind, and respectful and looking for the same in a roommate. Rent is $1,100 per month, plus a $1,100 security deposit. Your half of utilities (including wireless internet and cable) would be about $140 per month. No smoking; no pets. Available Immediately!
