The home underwent technological upgrades in August 2022 and February 2023, including motorized roller shades and a modern, highly efficient electric heat pump HVAC system. In 2023, the home's water heater was upgraded to a highly efficient heat pump. While the beds can be configured to allow up to 9 guests, the insurance limits capacity to 6 guests. The extra beds are ideal for families with children who don't want to share beds. Your neighborhood is home to several of Berkeley’s famous walking paths and staircases. Follow the stairs of Eucalyptus Path 10 minutes down to the restaurants, cafes, and spa at the historic 5-star Claremont Hotel, or take the more meandering Evergreen Path if the stairs are too steep. Walk another 2 minutes and explore the shopping, sipping, and dining on Domingo Ave, including Berkeley’s best breakfast at Rick & Ann’s Cafe. Nestled on the edge of Claremont Canyon Nature Preserve, your hillside abode is also only a 3-minute walk to the quiet, forested hiking trails of Garber Park. The house features three elegantly appointed bedrooms, including two master suites. The third bedroom is only a few steps to its own full bathroom. There is also a small fourth bonus room attached to one of the master suites, which contains a twin-over-full bunk bed. All three bedrooms and the bonus room have doors onto the decks. The bonus room has smart lock access just like the front door to the house. You will have the entire 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home to yourself during your stay. The living room and lower left bedroom have motorized roller shades. Do not pull on the shades as this will break the gears in the motors; use the remote controls provided on the wall in each room.
