If Austin's general motto is "Keep Austin Weird" then Hyde Park's motto should be "Keep Hyde Park Historic." Located just north of the University of Texas, Hyde Park is a neighborhood with origins stretching back before the Civil War. Now considered a historic district, it boasts quaint southern charm in many of its sweeping architectural wonders and smaller bungalow cottages. For all that charm, it also offers residents a fantastic location. Not only is it close to UT, but Hyde Park is also a short bus or bike ride away from bustling downtown Austin. Hyde Park has a neighborly feel that makes it an incredibly desirable neighborhood. The streets are quiet, lined with trees, and pleasant to stroll down. Surrounded by Hancock to the south, the Triangle State to the northwest, North University to the southwest, and the North Loop to the northeast, this primary location provides a small-town feel in one of the United States' most unique cities.

The Rapid 801 - North Lamar/South Congress services Hyde Park, and from there travelers can connect to local Hyde Park buses. Hyde Park is also far enough removed from downtown Austin to ensure a serene living space for all residents. The area's renowned walkability makes it a particularly charming neighborhood. Residents often stroll the streets or bike from place to place.
