This is a loft-style two-bedroom, two full bath, two floor apartment in Old Town Alexandria. It is occupies the upper two floors of a four-story garden-style apartment building. On the lower floor there is a living room with a wood-burning fire place, a dining area, a new kitchen, a bedroom, and a remodeled full bathroom. The new kitchen has a dishwasher, disposal, double under-mount sink, quartz counter tops, a stove and large refrigerator. It has a built-in microwave above the stove. The kitchen has natural oak cabinets which provide excellent storage. The upper floor has a large loft bedroom with two skylights, another full bathroom with skylight, and a washer-dryer room, plus excellent storage. The apartment has hardwood (natural oak) flooring throughout. The unit has tenant-controlled year-round central air conditioning. This is an unusual end unit with good natural lighting, having windows facing north, south, and west (and up with the skylights). There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. The loft bedroom has 2 skylights and a window. The unit is one of two apartments on a secured hall. An intercom system permits talking to guests and remotely opening the hall entrance door. Free high-speed wireless internet (cable source) is included. All utilities except electricity are included. The unit comes with a private parking space adjacent to the building. There is also excellent off-street and on-street parking so that guests can always park their cars. It is a short three blocks to restaurants (Faccia Luna, Southside 815, and District Taco) and shops on South Washington Street. Stores include a Safeway, Balducci's (a gourmet grocery store with high-end prepared food carry-out), a CVS drug store, two coffee shops, Firehook Bakery (and coffee shop), an Ace hardware store, two banks, cleaners, two convenience stores, etc. Metro is within walking distance (if you are a walker - it is about a 20 minute walk); excellent connecting bus service is two blocks away on S. Washington St. . No pets please. No smoking in the apartment. We are a family owned and operated hands-on apartment business. We have been offering quality apartments with hands-on owner-provided maintenance in this area in the southern part of Old Town Alexandria for forty-five years. We have 55 one or two bedroom units with a variety of floor plans. On average, we have one of these units available for rent each month. Our rents range from maximums of $1400 (English Basement) to $1650 (one bedroom) to $2300 (2 bedroom), with downward variations due to size and floor plan. The area is one of inter-mingled townhouses and small (four to six unit) individual garden-style apartment buildings. All of our units are within a contiguous three-block area in that neighborhood (in the 900 blocks of Jefferson and Church Streets, and in the 800 block of S. Alfred St.).
