We have been living at the Dalton for a bit over a week now and it has been a great experience. Shadia is great and helped us find the perfect apartment and has been friendly and attentive throughout the whole move in process.
Pro:
- conveniently located next to metro
- location in Alexandria
- clean
- maintentance/cleaning is responsive
- everyone so far has been friendly
- parking garage is good
- rooftop area and pool is nice (you can see the White House from it)
- community rooms like nice
- price is competitive compared to other places
Cons:
- just wish the gym had a few more free weights like a squat rack
I had a great self-guided tour here, thanks to the help of Leslie and Ashley. Both of them were super patient and friendly with us.
The gym was modern and clean, but small for the complex. The lounge was a great area for guests and had a good amount of space. I don’t recall seeing a business/office space for residents. The rooftop provided a nice view of old town and mostly just Alexandria (little bit of DC)
They are right next to a McDonalds, and I liked the fact there was some street parking for guests.
We're moving out of the Dalton after 2.5 years because we bought a new home. We've really loved our time here, and I recommend this apartment to anyone!
Pros: The maintenance and concierge teams are top-notch. Maintenance has always come to our apartment within a day of submitting a request, and concierge is always there to greet you with a smile :) The amenities (rooftop pool, grills, and seating, a few community rooms, printing center, and well-equipped gym) are clean, well-kept, and honestly under-utilized. The rooftop hangout is definitely my favorite part of the Dalton, and it offers great views of DC. There's a very convenient trash chute and recycling room on every floor. The location is perfect- so close to King St, Old Town, Braddock Metro Station, many walking trails, and grocery stores. They hosted a few in-person and virtual community activities while we lived here (although most of our time here was during COVID so maybe there will be more in the future). It's a LEED certified building which is pretty cool. Assigned underground parking.
Cons: You have to pay for monthly parking and pet rent. Sound from the hallway definitely carries into every apartment (I think due to how well-ventilated the building is) but if you have decent neighbors this isn't a problem.

I've had the pleasure of staying at The Dalton Apartments, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with elegance and impeccable design. Hallie Burns and her team were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home from the get-go.
The apartment itself was nothing short of spectacular. Spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with top-of-the-line amenities, it truly felt like I was home.
One of the highlights was the fitness center. With a wide range of equipment and a serene atmosphere, it was the perfect place to unwind and stay active.
Location-wise, The Dalton Apartments couldn't be better situated. Nestled in the heart of Alexandria city, it was just a stone's throw away from all the best restaurants, shops, and attractions. Whether I was in the mood for fine dining or casual exploration, everything was conveniently within reach.
My experience at The Dalton Apartments was nothing short of exceptional. I highly recommend this luxurious haven.

I moved to the Dalton a few months ago and it has been one of the easiest moving experiences I’ve had in quite a while. Shadia is incredibly welcoming, detailed and organized and goes above and beyond to ensure residents are comfortable long after the move-in date. Hallie is very responsive and always ready to assist with any questions that come up in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. Even the front desk staff is super kind and genuinely interested in how you’re doing. Whenever I have a super early workout and go to the gym, or have to head out to the office, BJ always greets me by name, asks me how I’m doing, how my cat Lola is doing, and wishes me a good day.
I also love my apartment and I’m so happy with my decision to move to The Dalton. The maintenance team is super quick to help with any tickets I submit and also give me updates if I’m not at home.
The location is great, with the metro station close by and King Street less than a 20 minute walk away.
I’m super grateful for this experience and I’m looking forward to creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Great apartment complex - close to train station, bus access, I don’t need a car to live here. Outstanding gym - I don’t need to pay for a membership in town. Solid office space on the first floor. Glad I chose The Dalton

What a lovely experience all around! The Dalton is a very nice, well-kept building with all the amenities I was looking for. My lease experience was wonderful and professional from the initial tour to the welcome home appointment. The apartment includes modern finishes, the building has wonderful, gorgeous amenities including several common areas, a business area with conference rooms, a well-appointed gym and a rooftop pool with a grill. Covered private parking was a must for me and I find it to be very secure. The Dalton staff from concierges to leasing agents to maintenance staff have been extraordinarily friendly and responsive. I am enjoying my home away from home and would highly recommend the Dalton.

The location and amenities of The Dalton are perfect for me, as I find it convenient for all my needs. The building itself and apartments are impressive, first-class luxury. I love taking advantage of the gym and pool and especially walking in the local area of old town Alexandria. It’s beautiful. I recommend you consider The Dalton for your next home.
