RENTERS BEWARE. Do not fall for the vintage charm. I lived here for two years. Can confirm the mold from the other review, instead of a proper fix they just tore all the drywall out of the stairwell on one side and left the brick wall that was hidden underneath. Mail/packages do get stolen, thankfully I was smart enough to get anything valuable shipped directly to my place of work. For a while 1/3 washer machines kept getting clogged/not draining, smelled horrid. Reports of clothing getting stolen but no personal experience with this as I never let my stuff hangout in the machines for long periods of time. Trash/recycling alley is basically a public restroom for the homeless, constantly smells like human waste. Also always a mess, trash/recycling constantly left all over the place. Property management has done very little to repair the gate/make it harder to break in. Had a fair number of people try and follow me into the building while taking my bike inside. Had multiple instances of people trying to also break into the gate to get to the bikes locked up in the main corridor. For a while the previous property management company was renting out the rooms in the basement as AirBnbs and charging the residents for their utilities (the place runs on gas so in the winter utilities could get to 200-250) Construction on both sides of the building, lights shining directly into my apartment for who knows how many months. Would consistently get woken up to the sounds of crashing, heavy machinery, etc. When I signed the lease to my apartment it had a couple missing blinds, a cracked top to the toilet, a leaky faucet. I was told these would be repaired when I first saw the place and *surprise* they never were. As I’m writing this I’ve been out of the place for 29 days and still have not received my security deposit. I’ve left numerous voicemails, texts, emails, with no response despite me having done everything that needs to be done on my end. Avoid this place like the plague. Honestly, you’re better off with the plague.

If I could give zero stars I would. I moved out almost a year ago and I am still haunted by the experience. By far the worst place I have ever lived. If there were vacancies in the building management would charge tenants more for utilities despite violations in the lease agreement. Very little action from management to fix the back gates to prevent houselessness folks from entering the premises. Management is VERY difficult to get in contact with. Washer/dryers are in dire need of replacing as they are often clogged. On the rare occasion they are functional they make your clothes smell horrible. I ended up going to a laundromat. Also the MOLD. I was coughing / sneezing /always sick. and suspect mold. As soon as I moved out my symptoms stoped
