If i could give 0 stars I absolutely would. A good thing about this place is the residents are great people and the friendliness of the agent that showed me the apartment. Aside from that be very wary of living here. I'll speak on my experience so you may understand. I toured this place because it was cheap and seemed nice for its price so i wouldn't mind living there a year. When i get there i'm greeted by the agent, I noticed how outdated and scary the elevator looked although it did work properly. The apartment seemed okay for what it was worth so i signed. They had 5 days to prepare and told me they'd have the apartment ready for me by move in and i asked three times for confirmation that it would be ready they said yes. Move in day comes around and they failed to install a stove in my unit as well as a fridge like they said they would. They also failed to clean the apartment prior to move in, a common courtesy for someone moving into residency. There was mouse droppings on all the closets and a whole rhino pill in a closet... They took over 10 days to install the stove and when they did... I discovered there was a gas leak from the pipe that lead to the stove. The maintenance man is responsive and did help me but a gas leak should have been handled by PGW immediately and when i called management they pushed it off like if it were some minor issue so it took about 3 days to fix. Additionally, I received a knock on my door from my downstairs neighbor who informed me my bathroom was leaking onto her's and she mentioned to me that months before i signed the entire bathroom collapsed onto her floor. This was never mentioned to me by the agent. This made me feel very uncomfortable and uneasy so i moved out my stuff in a matter of 10 days since move in and left to my girlfriends. When I informed the property manager i wanted to terminate the lease for the reasons above they immediately took a nasty attitude against me rather than being professional and understanding. A proper professional manager would realize how poorly this unit was handed to me and do everything in their power to make it right rather than to argue. I provided my termination of lease letter on August 31 and they acknowledged it after past Sep 1. The manager demanded I pay the rent for september despite none of my items being in the unit and my letter of termination. I was never handed a certificate of rental suitability and the manager insisted I was. I knew I had a case with a lawyer but it would be too costly to drag it on. The manager after all I had to deal with also demanded I don't receive my security deposit back. Additionally, the manager also emailed me at 11:30pm on a Sunday and when I replied the next morning they waited 4 days coincidentally until rent was considered late and a $50 fee was added which they attempted to charge me along with my termination of lease. Their justification was they "don't have time to reply to my concerns" so what is a property manager's role then? In the end there was no understanding on their end so i gave up my security deposit and paid full month of september. I do wish they had chosen to be more professional than to argue but I can say I've never made a better deicsion in my life than to terminate that lease which cost me $2000 total between the security, and the full month where I did not even live there. Please be mindful of my experience. I wrote a letter to Deer Management to inform them of the poor experience I had in hopes they upgrade their management.
