For the price, the building and location are really quite nice. Very spacious and the unit includes tandem parking spots in the covered/gated parking garage below. There's also a nice jogging/biking trail nearby with a new outdoor exercise area. Overall, no complaints about the building or neighborhood; both are quite good. One star reduction was for the property manager Nancy. Having a property manager who lives on site usually is a plus, but in this case it doesn't really matter since Nancy is not as responsive as she'll initially seem. If you don't keep following up with her about things, she'll often just ignore them or forget about them. One example of this is that she never actually provided a signed copy of the lease despite numerous asks. The other star reduction was for how the landlord handled my security deposit. I left the unit as clean as when I moved in, and on the move-out checklist Nancy marked that everything was good. More than 2 weeks after moving out, I finally got a check in the mail but it wasn't even made payable to me and $150 had been deducted for "cleaning." All communication has to go through Nancy, not the landlord, so I tried telling her that this was an unlawful deduction and the check needed to be in my name. Again, she was very unresponsive and unhelpful, so eventually I had to warn them that I'd be taking them to court. Knowing that they were indeed violating security deposit law, this ultimately got them to return my full deposit exactly 21 days after I had moved out.
