I have resided at El Macero Apartments (El Macero) since last year. I have recently renewed for next year because of the fine property management and maintenance at El Macero. Of note is the work performed by El Macero's maintenance supervisor, Miguel. Miguel is highly skilled, and his work is excellent and timely. He always shows us the cause of the problem so that we understand the solution. Miguel is a notably kind person and always ready to lend a skilled hand to residents; this quality is one to especially appreciate. It is always a true pleasure to see his friendly smile greeting me in the early mornings. Sincerely, PED

I've loved living here for the last almost year now. Maintenance is superb, property managers are kind, and the complex is always so quiet and clean -- perfect for a student like me. Even though this is a pet friendly space, all the dogs have been so cute and well behaved, and the owners do a great job of cleaning after them. My biggest concern: water/water heating/sewage/trash has never been lower than $170/month, which was obviously a huge surprise when our first bill came in. It's only two of us here, but trash/sewage alone comes out to about $100/month, which is way too high. So just keep in mind to add that on top of your base rent -- which as others have said, is very pricey. The fitness center is pristine, the laundry room is always clean ($2.50 per wash and $2 per dryer), and the pool is unheated but always kept up. They're adding grills slowly but surely. There is clubhouse onsite with a study room and TV room that I never use, but it's so cute. Sidenote: those rocks in the parking lot are terrible and need to be removed; getting out of the car and walking over them doesn't make any sense. Kinder sidenote: the property is across the street aka walking distance from a couple of bus stops, a really great market, nail salon, and restaurants. It's also a short biking distance to access the Davis green belt, which is absolutely amazing.
