We have lived here for 3 years now and the service has been excellent. Tiffany in the main office is especially helpful and has helped us with every need.

It’s hard to believe but I’ve been living in a loft in The Vanguard for 17 years now. When my husband and I moved in, our daughter was just a toddler. Now she is off at college, and we have a son, who is more than half way through high school. Looking back, I couldn’t be happier with our decision to raise our family in The Shipyard. Like Hoboken itself, there is real sense of community and small town feel to our “little” development. We found there were so many conveniences, regardless of the stage of life we were in. Everyone in the Shipyard has use of a number of amenities- there are two rooftop pools (one more kid-centric than the other), a large gym, a great kid’s playroom, a game/community room, a dog run, enclosed and private roof-top parks and of course, the beautiful Shipyard Park out front that hosts summer concerts and other events. This really allowed ample opportunities for me and my husband, as well as my kids, to meet other residents and make lifelong friendships. I also think our location is ideal too. The north side of Hoboken is quieter than downtown, especially by the water, but there is the convenience of having a Kings, Walgreens, a dry cleaner, a liquor store and a Starbucks downstairs, and I’m just a block from the retail, restaurants and bars on Washington Street and 14th Street. The neighborhood also has plenty of parks and playgrounds, the waterfront walkway has spectacular views of the city and Pier 13, the museum hosts events and there is a theater, daycare centers and a cooking school just a short walk away. Plus, the transportation options are plentiful. I feel like midtown and the new shops at Hudson Yards are just a further extension of the neighborhood as there is the ferry to midtown (and downtown) plus a resident shuttle to take you to the PATH, a NJ Transit bus stop a block away and we even have Citi bike stations on both sides of the property, plus ample parking garages for visitors. Honestly, I don’t think there is anything lacking in or around the Shipyard- besides maybe a closer bagel store. They are even renovating the hallways of the Vanguard now and the update looks great.
