Hey everyone! We have one huge, unfurnished bedroom available for rent in our beautiful four-bedroom Victorian home in Allston. We're looking for a couple to fill the room and join our literarily-inclined household (three young professionals in IT, publishing, and dance) on or around September 1st. We're all in our mid-to-upper-twenties, enjoy music, books, cooking, hanging out, etc., and are all recent Boston converts. The reason we're seeking a set of replacements is that the couple living here now will be moving to JP when the current lease ends. The house is a five-minute walk from the Packard's Corner T-stop on the Green B-line and the Linden Street bus stop on the 64 and 66 routes. There's a lot for off-street parking two houses over (available through an outside company for a monthly fee) and a Shaw's grocery store a few blocks' walk away. The home itself is three stories, with tenants living on the first floor (all surprisingly friendly and down to earth BU Law students) and basement, but we have a private entrance to the top two floors. The common areas are nicely furnished, there's coin-op laundry in the basement (along with storage space), hardwood floors throughout, and a newly refurbished kitchen. The lease begins as a sublet upon move-in but turns into a normal lease on September 1st. The landlord, a bald Irish grandpa who is very responsive, requires $2400 down (first and last month's rent). Water is included in the rent and utilities range by season, usually not more than $100 per person. We are looking for someone who is relatively clean, doesn't mind living with a cat (his name is Steve and he likes to pretend he's a dog), enjoys relaxing at home, keeps a normal social calendar (we're not partyers or drug users), and is able to pay rent in full and on time.
