One bedroom/bathroom available in 3BR/3.5BA Columbia Heights apartment for September 1 move-in. I have lived here for 5.5 years and am only moving out because I am moving in with my girlfriend. It is, without a doubt, the best apartment I have lived in. I can't recommend it highly enough. The apartment: 3BR/3.5BA. Approximately 1000 square feet total. Furnished kitchen and living room. Dishwasher, Washer/dryer, New appliances all included. Large deck/balcony with great views of the street and city. Three people in total live here (currently myself and two roommates). One other roommate and I are both moving out, but people who have lived here have been young professionals. However, we are open to all ages and genders. We typically have one game night every month or two with a collection of former roommates, but otherwise are pretty relaxed. The room: Approximately 150 square feet. Can fairly easily fit a queen sized bed, a large dresser, a nightstand, a desk, and several bookcases. Two small closets that can fit a considerable amount of clothes. Your own private, connected full bathroom. The neighborhood: Columbia Heights. About a 7 minute walk to the metro (green/yellow line). About a 15 minute walk to U St, Mt. Pleasant, and Adams Morgan. Short walks to buses on 11th, 14th, and 16th streets. About 7 minutes to Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Giant, etc. Lots of cool bars and restaurants. What more could you want? Other stuff: Rent will be about $1370 per month. Tenant is responsible for gas, electricity, cable, internet, and water, which ends up being roughly $80-120 per month per person total depending on the month. Security deposit is $1300. The lease would officially start on September 1, but the room is available as early as August 27 for no additional charge. Street parking is available, and a private parking space may be available. Dogs and cats are allowed with an additional deposit and with landlord approval.

Nearby Georgia Ave houses a variety of food and nightlife options (Sonny's and Call your Mother) and is also home to Banneker Rec Center and the Bruce Monroe Community Park.
