Hey everyone - I'm leaving my room in Ridgewood and looking for someone awesome to take my place! Below is a bit about my room and the people you would be living with. We have a room opening up in our gem of an apartment for March 1st. It's the entire top half of a Ridgewood red brick house, the front of which is facing 1-lane Cornelia and the back is facing 1-lane Jefferson. The roommate found a dream studio for himself so his room is up for grabs. The room: Window facing Cornelia trees and the quiet street. Fits a queen bed, desk, and has a huge closet that you can walk in to. Overhead ceiling fan. The other bedroom is on the opposite side of the apartment so you'll have wall-privacy. The apartment: CRAZY QUIET location, I actually had to buy a white noise machine to help sleep because of how quiet the neighborhood is. It's technically 5 rooms, however we only use 2 for bedrooms: 1 would be yours and the other is shared by my girlfriend and myself. The 3rd room we use as an office, and the 4th has a couch and TV set up in it. The 5th is a huge common space that has the kitchen table and the kitchen. The bathroom is the only room with the original Queens charm, ie. gold tile and a sliding shower door. There is a big window in the shower which I love to throw open when it's nice out. The building: There is free laundry in the basement and a HUGE backyard area with tables and a parking spot that can be negotiated. The building only has 2 units, ours and the people on the ground floor. They happen to be amazing neighbors and most importantly, they're also quiet. The apartment is super close to everything - the massive Food Bazaar supercenter is across the street on Wycoff and open until 1:30 AM, Trans Am, and Milk & Pull, my favorite cafe, are all 5 minutes on foot. Myrtle Wycoff M/L station is 6 minutes on foot as well as the Ridgewood bus terminal which basically connects the whole city. Tons of bars in the area, cleaners if you drop off laundry, and a beautiful new health food store just went in behind our building that's basically a Whole Foods without the name. About us: I'm Levi. I'm 32 and work as a travel and portrait photographer. I'm often on the road, and try to make it back to my hometown of Seattle as often as possible. I've lived in this apartment for 2.5 years, since the renovation, and I've been with the landlord/management for 5. I have one very well mannered cat named Jesse. Julia is a writer and teacher, a great cook, and has read almost every issue of The New Yorker. We're a clean apartment but not obsessive. Little things like taking our shoes off, not leaving dishes in the sink, and keeping common areas clean always go a long way. About you: Ideally, you work a regular 9-5 job and like a quiet home. We're 420 friendly but try to keep the apartment comfortable and chill, typically going out to see friends. Writing these listings are so awkward - let's meet in person! We'd love to have you by to show you the space. Rent is $1000, plus $1000 security deposit to move in. The apartment is available March 1 or perhaps Feb. 15 if needed. Sorry about the terrible pictures by the way!
