The Zumper Seattle Metro Report analyzed active listings last month across metro cities to identify the most and least expensive cities and those with the fastest growing rents. The Washington state one-bedroom median rent was $1,589 last month.

The Most Expensive

  • Bellevue ranked as the most expensive city with one-bedrooms priced at $2,540.
  • Redmond was the second priciest, with rent at $2,220.
  • Kirkland ranked as the third most expensive city with rent at $2,060.

The Least Expensive

  • Lakewood was the most affordable city with one-bedrooms priced at $1,300.
  • Oak Harbor ranked as the second least expensive with rent at $1,350.
  • Wenatchee was third with rent at $1,390.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

  • Bellevue had the fastest growing rent, up 9.5% since this time last year.
  • Wenatchee saw rent climb 9.4%, making it the second fastest growing.
  • Tacoma was third with rent increasing 5.7%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

  • Bellingham had the largest monthly growth rate, up 3.3%.
  • Wenatchee was second with rent climbing 3%.
  • Bremerton ranked third, with rent increasing 2.7% last month.
