Seattle Metro Report: January 2019

The Zumper Seattle Metro Report analyzed active listings in December 2018 across 20 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Washington state one bedroom median was $1,287 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Le plus cher

Bellevue, WA rent grew $30 to $2,060 and continued to rank as the priciest in the metro.

Seattle, WA saw rent drop $40 to $1,900 but remained the second most expensive city.

Redmond, WA was third with rent at $1,860.

Le moins cher

Marysville, WA ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $910.

Lakewood, WA rent grew $40 to hit an even $1,000, though it remained the second least expensive.

University, Place, WA followed closely as third with rent at $1,030.

Growth Rate

University, Place, WA had the largest year over year rental growth rate, up 15.7%.

Redmond, WA followed closely behind with the second fastest growing rent, climbing 15.5%.

Tacoma, WA was third with rent jumping 13.6% since this time last year.

Sammamish, WA had the fastest growing rent last month, up 5.8%.

Edmonds, WA rent was the second fastest growing, climbing 5.3% last month.

Lakewood, WA ranked as third with rent growing 4.2%.
