I am no longer a tenant at The Sail Cloth Factory but I stayed for 18 months and really enjoyed my time. My partner and I only moved to acquire a 2bdr outside of the city or else we would have happily renewed our lease. I highly recommend this apartment complex if you work downtown or want to be walking distance from the harbor. All of the utilities besides BGE and the garage fee was included in the rent. The garage fee was still on the portal for easy access. (It was a flat rate, no surprise fluctuations) I never had any pest or mice issues! Any building mishaps were fixed promptly and was also e-blasted sometimes before I had even noticed that was an issue. (Ex. Elevator button not working, glass on 2nd set of doors broken accidentally by a door dasher)The e-blasts (pest control precautionary spray visit, community updates etc.) were very helpful and always done in a timely manner. No downsides but for full transparency I’ll mention one. If you drive consider the downtown traffic and pedestrian increase during football season and the potential for primary roads (Lombard, Charles St, Pratt once) to be shut down due to construction, marathons etc. I’m from Tennessee so take that complaint with a grain of salt as many people have far more patience than me and I’m simply not used to roads being closed unless there was a flood. 😭 Garage : I absolutely loved the garage staff. Very friendly men and my car was never scratched or anything if the sort. The downside is if you don’t like your seat moved, mirrors adjusted, or the hassle of remembering to go warm up your car before you call it then getting a car mid lease like I did may not be the best decision. All in all I’d rather the valet drivers and my car have a safe transport so I’m not complaining, just a 5ft0 perfectionist. If you already have a car I’d say it’s a very nice experience. No downtown parking hassles and no shoveling snow when the winter decides to winter. Maintenance : Ryan is the only maintenance personnel and he is a really nice guy and very effective at his job. He never enters unwarrantedly and is not creepy in anyway for the women that live alone that may want that information. I can say there were times he said he was going to need a part for something and would be back and didn’t come. I do not hold that against him as he is very busy and is always on site doing something as you will notice. If you wish, I’d just put in an additional request of maintenance including the part he said he will need so he can have that reminder rather than the interaction itself. I only needed maintenance for lights going out, a clogged tub, hole in the wall and the front door sticking at one point. Not major issues concerning the building itself by any means. All of the concerns were fixed! Office : I have no complaints in terms of Allegra as she is the only office staff member. I just thought I’d add a separate review. She is a very friendly woman and is very efficient at what she does. When renewing or not renewing your lease you will get a ton of emails and reminders. Not to discredit any prior tenants that got “stuck” in a revolving lease but that was certainly not the case with me. Just check all emails whether you find them important or not and you will be fine. Thank you to everyone that made mine and my partner’s stay a comfortable one!!!
