A true sense of community. Having been here for a little over 40 days, I can truly say I’ve been blown away from the commitment of the leasing office. Between hosting numerous community events, actively communicating with tenants and always having a smile— they have helped build a massive (and growing) community of great neighbors. The neighbors have also joined together to build friendly communities of their own. The pool and roof top are frequented by all people, and there hasn’t been a time I didn’t have fun. Not to mention with the gym opening soon, a nearby gym membership is not necessary. It seems to have adequate equipment, at least for meme. With all new construction, you can expect major and minor issues. We have been lucky not to experience major issues other’s may have encountered, but generally I’ve heard that they are quick to fix them.
Although if you have a car, I would highly consider not having one. That might be the only downside for residents here (although I’m unaffected). The building may appear to have enough parking at face value… but from rumors of the parking being shared with the hotel and bottom floor retail space, I would advise reconsidering the building to number and assign parking spots. But again, not really a problem for me.
Overall, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in Richmond. I’ve been more than pleased and have enjoyed my time here. Perfect location, great nearby restaurants and a lot to continue to look forward to. Thanks to everyone who’s made it what it is.

Recently moved into the Ella a few months ago when I got out the military and they’re absolutely great but the best part of them for me is the staff. Maria sold us on the apartment and was absolutely amazing made us laugh. Kimi Wong goes above and beyond on keeping residents up to date and the one time I did reach out she was immediate with response. I personally saw Jaron come in late on a Saturday (probably his day off) to fix a mail delivery mistake, just great staff can’t beat them. My unit is great from day one I’ve only needed to call maintenance once since I moved in just never had a better apartment experience thank you Ella.

Great management team and maintenance is very responsive. Not too far of a walk from Scott’s addition, maybe about 15 minutes, we were looking for somewhere close to the fun but not too close so this location is good, quick access to 64, 95, 195 highways and quick drive to Kroger, wholefoods and publix (all less than 10 minutes). Target and Willowlawn Mall is close by too which another spot for food and retail.
Have not seen anything shady, lots of dog parents walking their pets early morning or in the evenings, neighbors are chill and nice.
Only wish I have is more weekend events 🤣 i work late and 35 minutes south so I barely can make any of the weekday events but my neighbors all said they were fun!
I recently moved into the Ella and had I great experience thus far. I was moving to Richmond from out of state on short notice for a job and had never even been to Richmond. Jewel was so helpful throughout the application and move in process even going out of her way to ensure everything was ready when I arrived. Thanks to Jewel I was able to apply, sign a lease, and get my keys in less than 3 days. I truly can’t thank her enough. Since then my experience at the Ella has been great, my unit is beautiful, the amenities are fantastic, all the employees have been so kind, and the complex is SUPER dog friendly which I love. The complex is also close enough to Scott’s Additions/downtown that it is super easy to walk over but just far enough away to not feel as if you’re living right in the city. It is also a very short commute to VCU with a bus stop just across the street. Overall, I would highly recommend the Ella based on my experiences thus far.
The Ella is by FAR the best apartment I've lived in. Maintenance requests get resolved in a timely manner and the team is so kind and helpful! I love the parking options and have never had an issue finding a spot, even though I don't reserve. The leasing team is so fun and I appreciate that they have so many events for the residents and take part in them to get to know us better. It's an extremely pet-friendly apartment and I love leaving in the morning or coming home and running across the sweetest dogs of all sizes. For the first time I've finally found a place I actually want to renew a lease at!
I’ve been at The Ella for almost a year now and completely love it! The location is central, not far from Scott’s Addition, and also close to downtown. The staff here are wonderful and responsive to any issues that need to be addressed. The special perk is that I love is the resident events that they host weekly (happy hours, clubhouse events, goodies in the leasing house etc.) The apartments are modern and spacious which is something that was important to me when shopping for an apartment.
The Ella was the first place I lived when I relocated to Richmond. Living here was a wonderful experience. The leasing office staff is WONDERFUL and so on top of it. Maintenance is also top notch. Specifically Todd from maintenance fulfilled most of my requests - he is quick to fulfill requests, kind, courteous, very professional, and you can tell he has a really deep knowledge of everything related to maintenance. He is truly a fix it guy! Highly recommend living here.

I absolutely love living at The Ella. Like any shared living community there are going to be things you're going to dislike but I'm not finding anything detrimental so far. Management and maintenance have been friendly and professional since day one. The few other residents I’ve encountered have always been friendly. The community is very clean and for the most part quiet which is perfect. I barely hear my neighbors so I forget that I have them at times. The unit is beautiful and super spacious for it to be a small one bedroom. Large walk in closet with full size stacked washer/dryer in it is just the cherry on top. the community amenities and social events are great. Giving my living experience here a 10/10
Only downsides I can think of are the parking spaces not being enough at times since parking is shared with businesses and the hotel, bathtubs could be bigger and deeper for a more comfortable soaking/sitting bath. And my unit doesn’t have a kitchen island which is a personal preference. However the amount of closet space and natural light plus my balcony makes up for all of that.
