The apartments are pretty nice: wood floors, tile shower and bathrooms, sturdy doors, double paned windows, etc. It even has a fireplace, though we couldn't get it to warm anything up; that became the job of the heater upstairs, which works pretty well. There are some negatives, though. Mostly dealing with the way the landlord runs things. She has really steep fees for things like missing rent payment by a day (not that she charges for it, but the rate which she does is unusual), finding thumbtack holes in walls (running $5 ea. which is completely ludicrous) and she has this obsession about smoking... I don't smoke, but the way in which she goes about trying to keep people from smoking, even outdoors, is just ridiculous. I can't think for the life of me why smoking outside the apartment could be detrimental to anyone but the smoker... anyway she's painted reminders of this policy all over the area "no smoking in or out" and her office is plastered with stop smoking ads. Also, try to find an exit strategy in case she corners you, because she really, really, really likes to talk. Oh yeah, I guess there used to be a pool in the courtyard, but it's been filled with cement and the whole place is fenced in by 10+ ft fencing, which also for some reason snakes through the courtyard. It's not hard to follow the odd rules she imposes, plus it's a nice place... but it's kinda a weird experience sometimes.
