I have lived here for 6 months now and my wife just moved in recently. Our overall experience has been great. Our apartment is well laid out with an open floor plan, a balcony, and a beautiful view of the Lafayette River. The few minor maintenance issues we have had have been resolved quickly by friendly and professional maintenance staff. Likewise, everyone in the leasing office has treated us very well and addressed any and all concerns we've had in a courteous and professional manner. The buildings are very secure with controlled access to the main hallways, electronic locks on the apartment doors themselves, as well as security cameras and a night guard. They are also pet friendly, and all of the tenants are very good about policing and picking up after their dogs. We could not have picked a better place to call home!

EDITED ON MOVEOUT: The community is beautiful. The staff is friendly. The apartments are great with super cheap monthly utilities (when blasting AC all day every day during the height of summer my power bill never rose above $80). We loved living here for a year, and only left because we bought a house! When I went to move out, we had a few discrepancies on the move out inspection that the friendly office staff quickly corrected to ensure everyone was on the same page. All in all, I’d recommend this community to anyone looking to live close to Naval Station Norfolk!

PREVIOUS REVIEW:
Have lived at the watermark for 4 months now and I love it. The office staff are amazing. They've kept the two local management staff the entire time the complex has been open, and Bernard is amazing. The receptionist changes from time to time but the leasing agents remain the same. The pool is meticulously maintained by the two full time maintenance staff on-site. They've responded to maintenance requests quickly and with no charge every time I have had an issue. I had an issue with my water heater burning through some of it's insulation and they got it fixed on a Sunday morning, and had me a new one by Friday. They do allow pets, but the owners are all courteous and I have never noticed any issues with cleanliness from pets on site. Assigned parking with designated spots for moving and free guest passes. Secure entry to all buildings is great and lets me feel safe leaving packages at my door. Came home from work with 12 packages piled at the entrance to my apartment with no issues before. I love living here

We stayed in Water Mark for almost one year with our kid who was in a school nearby. Overall, it was a good experience.
External environment is maintained well, and the inside of the community is safe. Room was very clean when delivered to us, the staff responded to our inquiry, request for repair, and even other questions not related to the property, very quick and professional. We would like to thank Kevin Anderson, he showed us the house, helped us manage to move in and out smoothly, and resolved all issues we had when staying. He is super professional and patient and full of passion.
From our experience, the whole team cares about its tenants. Gary came into the office after we moved in. When our vehicle had an issue, he was willing to help and followed up for the result, it was surprised and appreciated because we were totally new to that place.
Technician Josh was super helpful also. Whenever we had issues and contacted him, he acted immediately.
Couple issues we had were occasionally dog barking early in the morning outside of the apartment and our AC took longer to cool/heat the whole house.
Thank you the Water Mark team for making our stay very enjoyable and hassle free.

The Watermark is a great apartment community. Located in a central location and close to downtown, ghent, shopping, schools, etc. Parking is available. It's a safe community. They have a little dog park and a great gym. Also, can't forgot the exceptional staff! 10/10 recommended!
My experience so far. Did my signing while I was stationed in Florida. All I've seen is pictures and virtual tours online. Mr. Gary Owens and Kevin were been really helpful throughout the whole process. Always replying quick to my emails. Now that I'm here and moved in, heres my review. The community and the apartments are definitely better than what I've seen in pictures. -Community surroundings/buildings are clean. -Love that residents are the only ones that have access to their building. Visitors have to be let in. -Quite community. -Elevators in the building are a plus -Apartment interior are better than I expected. -High ceilings, a very large kitchen island that I thought could only fit 4 bar stool, but it can literally fit 6 minimum. - Master bedroom and bathroom are large, even the extra bathroom and the bedroom. -Big open floorplan Definitely happy with my decision to live here!

We've lived here a year and a half with our two dogs. We love the beautification that has been done to the landscape. We also have enjoyed the renovations to the complex being done here. Fresh paint, clean carpets, a renovated club space for entertaining, new gas grills that work perfectly; A saltwater swimming pool, the food trucks, the fundraisers and contests-- all these things make for a community we enjoy. We feel safe and secure here too. And let's not forget the staff who really cares about us. We love it here!
The apartments here are beautiful! The floor plans were well thought out and spacious with lots of different options. There are really nice appliances in the kitchens and I like the fact that the washer and dryer already comes in the apartment. I love how big the closets there are too. Definitely recommend checking them out!

After living here for a year, sad to go but had to due to military obligations. Great staff, very helpful especially Kevin Anderson who assisted from the first day until I had to turn in the keys and the apartment a few days ago. Would definitely come back here I if I ever have to go back to Norfolk.
