I've lived here for almost half a year at this point, and I can say I genuinely love it here. Moving out on my own for the first time, you hear a lot of scary things about apartments and landlords, but it feels like I managed to miss all that. My apartment has plenty of space for me and my cat, and the property managers are so lovely and kind. I'm always able to stop by during working hours and just say hi. They've worked with me when there was a mishap with my autobank draft and were very understanding, and the staff on site do a lovely job. Any maintenance issue that comes up are few and far between, and taken care of usually within one business day, unless it is an emergency then there is an after hours line to take care of problems no sweat. Not many places allow pets too, and in this pandemic it is nice to live in a place where I can have a furry friend to come home to. I will say while the rent is a bit higher than some other places nearby, the location to anyone working on the shipyard makes commuting by walking a breeze, and they give a nice discount for shipbuilders. The amenities that come with it are so nice during this pandemic, a small private gym that gets cleaned down quite well, a safe community room to spread out with a few friends. Even a pool with a life guard. The community here is great. I stupidly left my key in my door once over night coming in after work, and not only did no one even attempt anything, I had a neighbor knock on my door to tell me I left my key. Really does make you feel safe when you do something dumb by accident and no one takes advantage of it, and tries to help instead. At the end of the day you got to know it's still an apartment, sometimes you hear neighbors but no one actively tries to be annoying. I get a secured parking spot in a part of the town where parking is hard or expensive, and there is a few good restaurants under my building so doughnut cravings can be satisfied at many hours. I like living here and plan to live here a while longer, as nothing else at this time offers a trifecta of a super short commute, safe community, with great amenities, as of yet.
