APARTMENTS I have lived at Valley and Bloom for almost two years. It has been a pretty great experience overall. The apartments are modern and beautiful, especially mine, which has a balcony in my bedroom. All of the apartments have washers, dryers, and dishwashers that make life easier to live, especially for me as a mother with two children. There is ample closet space. The apartments are quiet. I love my apartment. It’s clean, spacious, sunlit, airy, and has lots of storage space in both of my bathrooms. It feels like a spa. BUILDING The lounge, kid’s playroom, two rooftops, two gyms, and courtyard are all great places to relax, lounge, and to meet other neighbors. One of my favorite things about living here is that my neighbors are diverse and mostly professionals. It’s quiet at night, most residents are focused individuals that seem to be doing well in life. I have met some great and intriguing people in this building. It is safe and it feels safe, which is important. There are many children in the building as well, which is great because the neighbors have play dates and there is a playground across the street from the building, which is like having a backyard. There is a library and two offices in the building where you can work from home easily. As an author and entrepreneur, I take advantage of these spaces when I can. STAFF Magda is a great Property Manager and I can tell that she has a great relationship with her team. Nothing is perfect, but I have chosen to communicate any issues I have living here to the leasing team. As I mentioned, the culture of Valley and Bloom is close and community-oriented. It’s a great place to live and Magda and Kyrra are pretty great women that do an impressive job running this place. I am comfortable communicating any issues to them, which says a lot about the culture of living here. I will be moving because my lifestyle needs have changed, but I will definitely miss living here. Kyrra is all around amazing. She is the Assistant Community Manager and started after I moved in. She has added a light and warmth to the community that I believe all of the neighbors greatly appreciate. She also responds in a timely manner to requests and is easy to work with. Ariel is the Maintenance Manager. He has a warm personality, strong work ethic, and is thoughtful . If he comes to your apartment to fix an issue, he makes sure to ask if you need anything else and wants to ensure that you’re happy. The older gentleman (I don’t know his name) that works in maintenance is also a pleasure to see every morning. He gives the property a certain kind of charm and is a hard worker. COMMUNITY I love the sense of community and culture among the residents and staff. Almost every month, the building hosts a party or event of some kind. As a result, I have met and befriended several neighbors. Some of these friendships have become quite close. We have dinner with each other in each other’s apartments, babysit each other’s kids, and help each other navigate life in Montclair. Each person has knowledge to offer so taking a community-approach to living in Montclair with young kids has made life more fruitful. LOCATION Montclair is an amazing city. The school district has made parenting much easier. The teachers are amazing and honestly when my kids show me what they learn in school I am impressed. Given the downtown location of Valley and Bloom, it’s right next door to Montclair Community Pre-K school and the Developmental Learning Center, which has made my life unbelievably easier because I could just take my kids to school in less than 10 minutes. The buildings are also across the street from Hillside Elementary school and the bus stop for the other Montclair elementary schools. It’s a prime location. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the post office, is just down the street from Montclair’s finest restaurants and Whole Foods.
