This is a really safe(!), beautiful place to live in Little Italy, especially if you're a student or employee at UIC, Rush, or any of the other facilities here at Chicago's medical district. I feel very comfortable living in a building with so many security features. Additionally, as a student, they have multiple locations in the building to host study groups or study individually (see picture!). Also, as a student, I highly value a quiet atmosphere, and the apartments are truly soundproof between shared walls. And lastly, it's a very clean and modern building with kind, respectful employees!
I recently had the pleasure of touring an apartment with Diana, and I must say it was an exceptional experience.
Throughout the tour, Diana demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the property, highlighting its features and amenities with enthusiasm and professionalism. She was attentive to my questions and concerns, providing clear and informative answers every step of the way.
I would highly recommend Diana to anyone in search of a knowledgeable and personable leasing agent. Her dedication to providing exceptional service sets her apart, and I am grateful for her assistance in helping me find the perfect apartment.
Thank you, Diana, for your outstanding professionalism and hospitality!!
I have lived here for over a year and have nothing but good experiences. The maintenance team is awesome and is always around working on something. I also love the security of having the front door be staffed 24/7. In terms of the management, they are the best I have ever experienced in an apartment. They will get involved and be strict if they need to, but otherwise they stay out of your hair. If I have ever had an issue with anything, they are always super helpful and quick to resolve anything that comes up.
About the building, the renovations are very nice but you can tell that they're mostly superficial. Perfect for me right now, but it's not a brand new building so don't expect that. One thing that I really appreciate is how thick the walls are. Once in a while I will hear people in the hallway through my door, but I have never heard any of my neighbors through the walls or ceiling.
One of the small inconveniences that I have is the parking situation. I can't complain too much because I am grateful to have a spot in the first place, but I wish that they either opened the second garage for use, or they assigned spots and allowed a discounted price for those who wanted to park on the open-air roof of the garage. If you come home later than 7pm, it's very hard to find a spot and you are left with parking outside on the uncovered roof.
Overall, this has been one of my favorite apartment buildings to live in and I would highly recommend checking it out. It has a great location and a great management team

I am pleased that I moved here last year. I enjoy my living here and the amenities SCIO has. I have referred 2 people here so far and I would refer it to everyone I know who is looking for a comfortable living. Staff are friendly and place is nice. I like the view of the higher levels both north and south!!
Something to consider, AC in the summer might be not up to standards everyday if you enjoy chilled feeling like myself (68-70). However, the AC can stay at 71-72 but very rarely can go below that.

Most of the people working here are simply awesome! Huge shout out to Brad, the awesome new maintenance guy - he is quite the maintenance genius if there were one!

I lived here for 6 years. Safe, clean, quiet place to live, convenient location close to the medical district. Building management very quick to fix all requests within 24h. People in the office and the concierge service are all very nice.
Close to grocery stores, restaurants, bus stops, CTA pink line within minutes. Close to the west loop.
The only thing to complain was that my rent kept increasing every year, but I think this aligns with the city of Chicago.
100% recommended if you are planning to work in the area and don't want to commute.

It’s a perfect apartment to me, a new student in UIC, and I think to all the residents living in the medical district in Chicago as well. I moved here from another place a month ago and SCIO is better because of the excellent facilities, service, people and the community, especially I feel the people here very friendly. SCIO has 24H service in the first floor, including the bright lobby, fitness center, coffee bar, private study room, and the resort-style swimming pool in summer. I am looking forward to experience the swimming pool next summer. In fact, I really like dogs but I have no possible to have one now, so sometimes I very enjoy to watch the cute dogs living here, it’s a sweet life for me here.
