If I could give more stars, I would! The whole team at Reside on Barry (management, leasing, maintenance) are all wonderful. They make you feel right home, the minute you pull up with the Uhaul. The apartments are beautiful and spacious (we had a 2 bedroom). It was the first time in an apartment that I could barely hear other tenants in the building while inside my apartment. It was amazing! If we ever decide to move back to Chicago, we will search for Reside properties first. Highly recommend.

Great location! CVS and Mariano's is right next door. Although close to a busier street, there has not been a noise issue. The gym is more well-kept than other apartments and larger than average.
Julio, part of the maintenance team, made the move-in experience wonderful. He is very kind and helpful. I look forward to seeing him when I come to the lobby.
The features of the apartment are really nice and well renovated. Some renovations are currently going on through 2024, which include water shut-offs and some noise during business hours, but we were made aware of this through email communication.
Clean building, gym/laundry room on ground floor, dishwasher in-unit, and the intercom system technology for guests is great.
No complaints thus far!
Reside on Barry is such a wonderful place to live! The view from our apartment was AMAZING and the location is unbeatable, right across from Mariano’s, 5 minute walk to the lake front, and tons of great food/drink spots within the block. My roommate and I lived there for almost 2 years and had very few issues. When we did, Ashley and the rest of the management office was great and very responsive! Not to mention the maintenance staff is so friendly and always available. Will miss this place!!

Julio and the location of the building are the absolute best parts of the complex. Julio and Willy are extremely helpful and quick when you submit a maintenance request. They even helped me move out by giving me boxes to use!
You absolutely can NOT beat the location. Footsteps from Broadway and a super easy 5 minute walk to the lake. Mariano's is also walking distance which is amazing and Trader Joe's isn't too far either!
During my stay, there were a lot of 9am-3pm water shut offs which honestly were pretty annoying as I work from home most days, but I understand it's an older building in process of renovations so it's completely necessary for them to do those. I stayed in a non-renovated unit and it still was pretty nice. There's the landlord special paint job of painting over light switches and outlets, but hey, again it's an old building.
Overall, I'm really happy I chose to live at Reside on Barry while I was in the city. I would 100% recommend!

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! Exceptional staff, Very clean building, very attentive maintenance staff, very safe location. We lived here for 8 wonderful years, I have not a single complaint. Thank you, Reside team, for an exceptional experience! I HIGHLY recommend looking into this building if you’re a young go getter who is building their career in downtown Chicago, you can walk the lake in 10 mins, Wrigley field is a 20 min walk, red line is a 10 min walk. You have a great gym down stairs, and the complex a cross the street on Broadway has a gym, a great dentist, a bank, and oh, a really good Mariano’s! This is great for young professionals! You will be glad you rented here!

I lived here for about 3 years, and I'm only leaving for career moves. My time has been terrific. Here's why:
The floor plans are a great use of space. I think my unit feels much bigger than the square footage.
Also another great thing is the solid walls. I never heard my neighbors inside my unit.
It has a dishwasher!! That's huge!!!
The laundry room is great - I've never had an issue getting a machine, and no one ever moved my clothes (if you've ever lived in a building where people move clothes, you know how gross that can be).
The response on service requests is very fast. I would place a request in at night, and the next morning someone would be at my door ready to fix it quickly. I also always felt that the property management company wanted to not only fix whatever issue I had, but also make it right by me.
The building staff do a wonderful job keeping everything clean.
The neighborhood is outstanding! Tons of great places to get food (like Crisp) and be outside. It'll be hard to find another place with such a great walkscore. It's on a quiet street, too.

Our daughter recently moved into this building and the building engineer Julio went above and beyond to make the move-in a great experience. Julio is a real asset to the residents of the building and we just wanted to give him some credit where credit is due. He doesn’t know we’re writing this, but he definitely earned high praise for a job well done!
I've lived here for a couple months now and I really like it. The apartments are nicely renovated, the building itself is clean and fairly quiet, and the staff are all very nice and quick to respond to any questions/service requests. Plus, the location is great - close to Broadway to be short walking distance to all the restaurants and shops, but Barry itself is a quieter side street.
