Medium-sized room for rent in Berwyn Heights in College Park. Flexible move in date, anytime in September. Hardwood floors, closet. Washer/Dryer in basement. Shared bathroom with one other tenant. Street parking available. In front of the UMD bus to campus. The house is clean, affordable, and the roommates are two professionals in their 20's/30's. Base rent is $635/month + utilities. We just had the HVAC unit replaced so great AC and heating in the house. Large yard and back patio area with grill. A great place to live! No animals unfortunately. I am willing to leave the dresser and bed here for an extra $20. The two other roommates are looking for a grad student or working professional in mid 20's or 30's, no gender preference.

I currently rent a room in a house in Maryland that is close to DC, UMD, NASA, and close to Metro. There is a Metro bus stop right in our front yard, and the train is less than a 10 minute drive. It is a huge front yard on a corner lot, and there is one to three people who take the bus at that stop, never more than that at any given time, so it is not a disturbance. The house is a one floor with a multi-room basement and an attic, 3 bedrooms upstairs, one bedroom and a den in the basement, two full baths and one half bath. There is a washer and dryer, a large eat-in kitchen with a wonderful bay window, a garage and driveway. It is a LOT of space, and the house also has a nice front porch/yard and backyard. The house is a 5-10 minute drive to Beltway Plaza Shopping Center which is in Greenbelt, MD. The house itself is in a town called Berwyn Heights, which is between Greenbelt and College Park and which shares its zip code with College Park. I love this neighborhood, it is very quiet and walkable, very residential and suburban feel but very close to UMD and the mall and the interstate. It is also very close to the Berwyn Heights fire department which is like a 15 minute walk away. I try to walk to the park/lake every weekend, and have taken some of the best sunset photos over the lake. The mall is a 20 minute walk (has Giant grocery, CVS, Target, Big Lots, Burlington, Silver Diner, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, movie theater, and other stores), College Park Metro is a 35-40 minute walk, and the Metro bus goes right to College Park and Greenbelt Metro (Green line) as well as to Deanwood (Orange line). It's a very family-friendly neighborhood, no loud neighbors or crazy stuff happening out here. I would like to stay and renew the lease, but family emergencies have made me decide I need to be closer to my family and work. I have found a place that I really like, and the owner of the house would like me to move in before my lease ends here if possible. So I would like to find someone who is interested in taking over my lease responsibility and rent my room in this lovely house, with the option to renew the lease if they should choose to. The current lease ends August 31, 2016. My portion of the rent is $620/month, and the four of us tenants split the water, gas, electric, cable and internet (Verizon FIOS). House repairs are the responsibility of the landlord. There is no carpet in this house, only hardwood floors, tile, and cement floors in the back basement room where storage and the washer/dryer are. The (messy) bedroom in the photos is mine (soon to be yours, minus all the mess). The rest of the house stays a lot tidier. The smallest bedroom upstairs is vacant and currently being used as a guest room that we all use if we ever have overnight guests. You would be sharing the main bathroom with the couple. They primarily use it for showers and mainly use the basement half bath otherwise. The chosen person would sign on as the tenant in my place for the remainder of the lease through August 31st. The current other tenants are a man and a woman couple in their twenties and thirties who rent the basement room, and a man in his twenties who rents a room upstairs next to my (your) room. They all just shared that they will be moving out as well at the end of this lease, as they have been here five years and two years and are moving to the next chapters of their lives. So you will likely have the option to rent the entire house if you would like after..
